In my very post and in the screenshot I posted it straight up says "often, this character is recognized as an author insert or wish fulfillment" and that's the biggest problem with your post. A Mary Sue isn't always an author insert, that's possible but it's not something that has to be in each one. However what is always there is the fact said characters are perfect which is what Strowman is which goes back to the original point. Even in the original magazine where Mary Sue first originated from, even the editors made no mention of it being a self-insert. You're for some reason thinking that it has to be a self-insert when nowhere it says that but what it has to be is the character has to perfect. The "it has to be a self-insert" portion actually comes from people misunderstanding the phrase these days as that wasn't what the editors nor the writer itself state.
Like I get that it can get you upset but one thing's for sure, it's not a self-insert. Hypothetically say it has to be a self-insert, even in the quotes I've posted by what Vince likes and sees in Strowman and even dating back to interviews, quotes, comments about Vince he's that kind of guy himself or he'd like to be that kind of guy.
There's no way this doesn't describe that man.
After reviewing the wiki article on the term I will concede, ( even though in the wiki link literally the SECOND LINE in it's description is about wish fulfillment/self-inserion) that the attributes portion of the definition is the more associated part. However wish fulfillment and self-insertion are still associated with it whether it makes up 10% , 30%, 50% or 75%. You can't just ignore that. In fact on the wiki page for self-insertion under the "See Also" section it links to the Mary Sue page. I think the association is so close because it's a literary device first and fore-most and in that world it's just from the mind of the author to the page. So the drawn conclusion is that is's an idealized form of themselves. You seem to be down-playing it's connection. As if there is hardly none. Nowhere did I downplay any connection and actually in the very post you quoted I said "it's possible", "often, thi-" and it's been said in numerous times in this thread. I even gave a hypothetical situation in which it was something that had to be done. Like, I get there's a connection, I'm just not saying it has to be there while the other area I mentioned such as someone being perfect has to. That's all I've been saying. I don't even see why you think I'm ignoring that when I give an example lol.

Zack doesn't even have any kids, and yet he has the most dad hairdo ever. *Ryder's future daughter smears lipstick all over her face and yells "Woo woo woo, you know it!" at her dad*

It's a pet peeve of mine, too. The term originated in Star Trek fandom to describe OP self-insert characters in Trek fanfic. In recent years, people have been misusing it to mean OP characters in general.

![](https://fat.gfycat.com/AdoredComplexChital.gif) Bayley doesn't like it when people are mean to his husband, especially when they call him short. There are so many gifs of Bayley I’ve yet to see

Baron Corbin has won more matches as part of management than he did when he was on his own.
