Awesome trailer. Gave me chills. The trailer for Last Jedi couldn’t even do that. This is great news!

They are probably supposed to be Arc-170s... But the fighters flying over their heads after it pans up to the Republic Cruisers almost look like Z-95 headhunters.

Now the big question I have (having only watch a little of either series):
Will anything shown in this season of the show contradict what was shown in Rebels?

Now the big question I have (having only watch a little of either series): Will anything shown in this season of the show contradict what was shown in Rebels? I highly doubt it. Since the Disney buyout, and the removal of the EU, they’ve gone to pretty great lengths to ensure continuity across all platforms. It’s pretty much why the erased the EU, so they could control what’s in and out of continuity in place of Lucas’s 5 Tiers of Continuity.

Also the same people that did Rebels did Clone Wars. They're not going to contradict their own stories. lol
They are probably ARC-170's without the S-Foils extended as that's what's in the hangar, but Clone Wars introduced the Z-95 into canon so it could be them, too!

...
Meh.
If Clone Wars had continued the only thing left that would've interested me would've been Asajj Ventress' final fate, and based on what was released on that, it doesn't sound like it would've been a very good story if animated. Everything else was really covered in Rebels. I know people were upset when Clone Wars got canceled without being able to do its planned finish, but honestly, what stories were left to tell?

Crap! It’s going to be on the Disney streaming service. I wasn’t wanting to sign up for another service.

I'm happy to see the show again but confused about what there is left to do.

I'm happy to see the show again but confused about what there is left to do. They had 8 seasons planned and mostly written, complete with a lot of early animation. While a few of the more epic stories found their way into other media (Son of Dathomir, Dark Disciple), there are others that were relatively untouched.

I imagine they're going to animate what eventually became Dark Disciple. Asajj Ventress was a big part of the show as both a villain and an anti-hero, so I'd like to see a proper send-off for her within the show.
I'd also like to see more Ahsoka stuff, like how she ends up with the silver lightsabers she was using in Rebels.

I've never read Dark Disciple, but from everything I've read about it, it always sounded like kind of an underwhelming farewell for Asajj. Probably has something to do with me never finding Quinlan Vos all that interesting. I always thought of it as kinda a favor it was released as a novel and never got animated, easier to retcon that way. Although I also still think they should just reveal that Asajj was Bea Arthur's character from The Holiday Special, so what do I know? Besides, everybody knows there's only one Clone Wars story that still needs to be told - A Lepi's Tale: The Rise of Action Jaxxon!

Siege of Mandalore will be but, it was really only referenced in the Ahsoka novel. We'll also probably see life after the order for Ahsoka, the bad batch, the utapau arc, the Boba vs. Cad Bane arc, and other unfinished arcs that have been referenced.

I do wonder if they are going to keep the format since being on a streaming service means they don’t have to. They don’t need to keep to the 2-4 22 minute episodes per arc pattern. If it is intended to finish it up, it might be possible that each episode is a self contained arc. Remember, they had another 2 1/2 seasons-worth of material and only two arcs that they actually used so far. How many unused ones do we know of? - Utapau - Bad Batch on Kashykk - Ahsoka”s walk about - Bounty Hunter arc - Ahsoka the vigilante - Under the Jedi Temple - Yuhzon Vong arc - Son of Dathomir (made into a comic series) - Dark Disciple (made into a novel) - Siege of Mandalore (the planned finale, which will probably still hold true) I want to say that I know there were a couple more (a second Bad Batch arc?), but I am uncertain. There’s one I am forgetting where Bariss Offee gets a redemption story but I forget what it involved. I also think there was another Sith arc making Darth Revan canon (but in the distant past) but I could be very wrong there. Does anyone else know of any? Also, lest we forget, they now have some characters they could give more back story to. Last we saw Kholani in TCW he was ordered to go to the planet he and his troops were found at in Rebels, but the battle that stranded them there was not shown and I would like to know why they fought over a planet that mo one bothered to hold after the fact, which is why they were stranded and yet not destroyed. I wouldn’t mind seeing some more of pre-fall Grand Inquisitor. Sure, he probably would not be a featured character, but still. Hell, you might even see Caleb Dume at some point. I definitely want to see what happened to the Younglings that Ahsoka escorted to and from Illium. Last we saw them, Anakin and Bariss’s duel interrupted a trading session of theirs.
