thora birch: Great actress. She's even good in the crap movies she does(dungeons and dragons).
Jennifer Hudson: just saw her in dreamgirls. She was really, really good. So, on the stength of one movie I'll put her in.
Allison Mack: I find her very watchable for some reason.
lori petty: she was tank girl!

Lea Thompson. She could play a teenager and a middle aged woman in the same movie (Back to the Future), a nerdy science girl (Space Camp), or a traumatized girl with bloodlust (Red Dawn). These are just a few examples showing her versatility.
I guess I'm not sure if she's my favorite actress overall, or just my favorite 80s girl, but she was the first person I thought of when I read the thread title.

Apart from my obvious Emma Watson fandom, it's probably Judy Dench. I just feel like I could watch her in damn near anything, and have her entertain me thoroughly.

Hilary Swank is an amazing actress. She's been in some crap, but she's always good. (kinda like the female Gene Hackman). Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchett are great actresses too.

Definately Sherilyn Fenn. I dont think I have to say why. She is goregous, and she was kickass in Twin Peaks.

Mark this on your calenders, folks. 26/12/06. Andrew is Good makes a post that makes absolutly no sense Seriously, for me right now it's difficult because there are a few good actresses then there are ones who are there just to be pretty. I can't say Lindsay Lohan cause I will get savaged on and haven't seen any of her films since Mean Girls so I'll probably have to go with Judi Dench as well. You put her in your cast, you're guarenteed a good performance.
