I still want one episode where Q Jr shows up and does a shitty job of tormenting Picard, like changing his tea from Earl Grey to Darjeeling or something.
"Yeah, I don't even really want to do this, but dad said he wants me to go into the family business, so whatever."

{Spoiler}So the girl at the beginning of the trailer, the one who Picard is apparently trying to protect, any chance that that's a rebuilt Lal? It would tie in nicely with Picard's speech at the beginning about Data sacrificing himself for him.

While not in the trailer, {Spoiler}Riker and Troi will also feature in the show. No surprise, given Frakes is directing several episodes.

Seriously, if he shows up to Destination Star Trek this year, I’ll pay for an autograph. Regardless of price.

On a minor but cool note, with this, the Starfleet communication pin as seen potential futures in All Good Things, The Visitor, Endgame, and probably other episodes is officially in the main timeline.
{Spoiler}DATA! SEVEN OF NINE! HUGH! {Spoiler} Also I wonder if those pointy-eared aliens we saw in the trailer are Vulcans or Romulans? And I wonder if we'll see a Chakotay cameo? Or a mention from Seven since they were dating at the end of Voyager. [/spoiler]

The thing I like most of seeing that one character in this is the sense of interconnectivity in Trek. I know with the TV and Movie budgets you could only do so much with the characters from all over interacting, but being they're the same universe it's nice to see mixing up that before we'd only see in books and comics (such as one book where Seven meets the TOS crew in the TOS timeline).

I'm most interested in seeing how much of the post-TNG canon established in the last 10-15 years is acknowledged. In that canon Data's programming merges with B-4 and he replaces Picard as captain of the Enterprise, while in ST:P that doesn't seem to be the case. Also, I wouldn't mind getting a look at the USS Titan.

I was all set to make a Logan joke at the line "She needs my help," but then I saw the Borg cube, and my interest just flatlined.

TNG and - especially - Voyager ran the Borg into the ground. {Spoiler}It seems that the Borg are cast in a sympathetic light in this show, however. The prelude comics to Star Trek '09 had the Romulans conducting experiments with captured Borg technology (Nero's ship is a Borgified mining ship), and based on the trailers the Borg are effectively playing the role of Jews to the Romulans Nazis. It's an interesting twist, I suppose, but feels a little anticlimactic.

This looks good. I just hope it's accessible enough for a casual Trek fan like myself who hasn't seen every single episode of every series, but used to watch reruns of the Original Series and TNG a lot.

I think the only real misstep TNG made with the Borg was Descent Part 2. And Voyager had a few damn good episodes with the Borg like Dark Frontier and Scorpion. Even the Enterprise episode with them was one of the better ones, since it also acted as a sort of epilogue to First Contact (which itself was a fantastic movie). I'm still all for more Borg, especially if they're portrayed as the relentless, soulless collective that threatens the very concept of a sense of self. Also the prelude comics to Star Trek 09 can be considered noncanon, considering Picard seems to directly contradict them. {Spoiler}In those comics, Data was Captain of the Enterprise-E. While in Picard, he's been offline since the events of Nemesis.

I'm wondering if Picard and his crew are flying around in that Borg cube, cause the bridge of that ship they are on is weird.

This may just be me in this regard... But I find it somewhat out of place despite being in the same universe and such that they're using the classic Trek font for the word Star Trek rather than the TNG font. I find it extremely annoying.

This continues to look amazing. I cannot wait to go on one last journey with Picard. You can there is a lot of love and care going into this show.
