You know the song, I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, but when I think on it I can't really remember when it was a white Christmas IE: snow on the ground. Now I've lived in the South for 2 years so snow isn't really expected, but before that I either lived in Boston or Burlington and it really only seemed to snow on a regular basis starting in mid January and snow on Christmas was unusual. So do you get a white Christmas, or does that song say that just cuz it sounds good?

I live in Australia, so our last White Christmas was during the Ice Age

I grew up in Scarborough Ontario Canada, where we'd be surprised when there WASN'T a white Christmas.
Since moving to New York it's been hit or miss. Some years there's snow, others nothing at all.

cuz a Black Christmas would suggest a Volcano erupted close by and covered everything in ash.

Last year, I believe there was snow on the ground around here but this year... Looks like I' ll have to spend a lot of time explaining my grandchildren what exactly was "snow" when I' m a crankly old man...
