What are some generalizations made about you that you hate?
I really hate when people rag on my generation. Believe me, I hate my generation more than most, but not all of us are stupid kids who don't know what we're talking about or we don't know what an NES is.
ok. Now you.

I hate being grouped together with the sad, teenage maniacs with their super huge Emma Watson posters and the crying themselves to sleep.
Though I encourage that assumption, just for s***s and giggles.

Everyone in high school either assumed I was on drugs (because of my wacky sense of humor) or that I was a sad gothy type because i wore a lot of black t-shirts and band shirts (Metallica, Ozzy, and ICP mostly) but they were both as far from the truth as possible.

I generalize about myself all the time, so I can't really blame anyone else for it. Although, to be fair, sometimes it takes a break-up with a fiancee to show you how truly emo you can be. Like, I always hated those little whiners, but now ... i'm one of them!
Generalizations are never a good thing, people. Never.

I hate that just because i'm wearing a S.O.A.D shirt or listening to Iron Maiden doesn't mean that i have no interest in football. Heck i'm reading the sports section in The Sun don't look so surprised!!
And vice versa when i'm wearing an Arsenal shirt it does not mean i'm a pee brain tosser who listens to only dance music, hip hop and any British band with an IQ of 2 (Oasis, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys etc)... ok so i like those bands but i listen to more broader music than that.

I don't like it when I'm drawing people while they are asleep that I'm automatically up to evil. There's only been blood twice and each time it was necessary.

in high school everyone assumed I was a soul-eating satanist because I had long hair and listened to heavy metal. always assumed I was on drugs and was up to no good. nobody wanted to be my friend and I was lonely as hell because of it. pissed me off because it wasn't my own doing, because lord knows I'm the friendliest guy on the planet. people are so superficial.

You post on an internet wrestling message board! LOL you're a lonely pimple faced geek that can't get any har har har!
Seriously, it applies sometimes to people as everything does, but this is the most outdated and ridiculous generalization of people. I'm waiting for "you own a computer? FEMALE FEARING VIRGIN LAWL!"

A lot of people assume that because I wear suits a lot now, that means I have money. The dress code for my position is professional. Hence suits are required. I do fairly well, and money isn't as much of a problem as it was a few years ago, but by no means am I loaded with disposable income. Still, it's always nice to fool the kind of girls that Spike described into thinking I do .

People assume I'm this manwhore scumbag based on how I joke and the way I dress, I guess...I've slept with two girls my entire life, and I wouldn't mind not counting one of them.

People think that because my band is rockabilly influenced and has a standup bass that we probably sound like the Stray Cats and try to dress like we're from the 50s. Then when I try to explain that it's more experimental than that, they think it's some kind of artsy ambient stuff that they won't get into.

I hate it when people assume I'm some sort of scenester emo kid. Or goth. Or any other sweeping generalization about the way I dress. Yeah, I wear a lot of black, and stripes, and I wear makeup and crap...so what? That doesn't mean I'm scene...I can't stand most scene kids, they're all whiny and think they know everything about the world and it makes me rather angry.
Oh well. I just hate being lumped in with them.
Also a lot of people call me a chick, but that's okay, I don't really mind that as much. Androgyny is kinda what I shoot for.

Let's see...
I wear glasses, I'm a Classics student, I have a rather rich vocabulary, I speak 6 languagues and I'm moderately skilled with computers...
Guess which stereotype springs to mind?

Might as well bring this one in seeing as we are on wrestling page. I watch wrestling and its assumed by alot of people that I'm white trash, I have no friends, and that I probably dropped out of high school. None of this is true and yet because I watch wrestling programming it must be. Don't like be stereotyped because I watch wrestling.
