Anyone tried this? I'm attempting to do it and some of the really early stuff is pretty dry like the Jack Brisco This Is Your Life episode from 1971. Jack sounds like he's muttering half the time but there is a curiosity factor to seeing a lot of this really early stuff. The early Bruno vs. George the Animal Steel cage match was cool to watch.

Years ago I did a chronological viewing of all WWE, ECW, and WCW ppv events. It took me like a year and I was unemployed at the time.
Never again.

I'm doing this, but only for PPV, Clash, and SNME shows. I'm currently on 1995 (yeah I know).

Myself and my buddy Austin are doing this with the WWF starting with the first RAW in 1993 and going forward for our podcast, ICOPOD (cheap plug). We've made it to SummerSlam. It's fun.

Man, I wish I could. There is just SO much content, it’s intimidating. But just watching one day, Mid-Atlantic, then Mid-South, World Class and topped off with All Star. I mean, man... aren’t we lucky that we can?

I am trying it. Got as far as 1977 and Dusty Rhodes v Billy Graham Texas death match.
One issue is not all matches that appear in home video classics are dated - so this means the matches on the Andre the Giant or Bruno vids (for instance) I will not watch until I get to 80s despite some of the matches being from the 70s.
Enjoying it so far - but it will take a lot longer once I get to the 80s just because of the increased volume of content including mid south, WCCW and the extra WWF programming. Going to be amazing, but must stick to the system and not skip ahead!
Many more Ivan Putski squash matches for the foreseeable future methinks. Polish power!

I think if there was a way to do this without consulting a spreadsheet AND I didn't have other shit to do like take care of a child I'd probably do this.

I started my chronological watching when I first ordered the network right before Wrestlemania 30 in 2014. I started with Wrestlemania 1, and have been watching all of the PPVs, SMNEs and Raw shows in order. I’m currently up to the post Invasion PPV Raw episode in 2001.

I started this project back in 2001, with WM1, doing ppv’s as I could find them, then adding TV shows once the Network came about.
Today, 17 years later, I am starting Survivor Series 2010.

I can barely even watch stuff from the 80s because of how much quicker and snappier TV and wrestling are now.

I've only done a chronological journey through WWF content. I started at the first episode of Raw and I'm now upto September '99. When I reach Wrestlemania 17 I'm going to begin a chronological WCW journey from the first episode of Nitro until it closed down.

r/SquaredCircle has a Wiki that has all the content listed in chronological order so that's not a problem, time certainly is though haha I've been using this. Was gonna start in 1988, but decided to relive from later years with ECW and WCW, so I went with 1999. On the 10/4/99 episode of Raw. I've slowed with it lately because I started watching the MCU in order.

As far as 1978 now in my attempt at this. I keep getting delayed by when more earlier content is added and have to go back and watch that first before proceeding - like they added two extra matches from the 50s recently.
Obviously there is a big difference in style from the early stuff and today - and a big difference in physiques. It is interesting how much someone like Billy Graham really stood out in the 70s, and how many guys look out of shape. The reaction from the crowd to even the most elementary of moves is astonishing as well, roaring for headlocks or a punches and becoming properly invested in the simplest of matches.
Big characters and great talkers stand out just as much here as in any era, but in many ways it is even more obvious as there are not any lengthy technical matches where someone could get over on skill alone. Dusty Rhodes and Ernie Ladd, as well as managers like Freddie Blassie and the Grand Wizard are some of those that really stick out at this so far. That said, wins and losses meant so much more in an era where the crowd were less wise to the inner workings of the business, which meant someone going on a winning streak was enough in of itself for some to look a threat. And of course a guy like Andre would be big by being liiterally big.
Things that are missing from the network are also becoming more apparent to me. There is a distinct lack of pre 1980s NWA - which may be that there are not many tapes from that era - but I would have liked to have seen at least the key NWA title changes on there as it is a period of time in the promotion I know very little about.
I am currently witnessing the rise of Bob Backlund and I can see his title win over Billy Graham in Feb 78 is not on the network. Will have to find this on You Tube to supplement my journey - but it does strike me as an odd ommission.
