It's also pretty amazing that as soon as we shift from Schneider to Layboune that the more recognizable era of Nickelodeon begins. Because starting with Nick Rocks, it's a slew of shows that often get mentioned in 80s nostalgia for the network. Yeah, I've been fascinated by all these shows he's been covering up to this point that I'd never heard of, seen, etc. I've told him that I've learned so much from his videos.

I await his review of Out of Control. Id I remember correctly it had like eight episodes and by the time my family got cable in the late 80's it they had already been rerun to death. Wow! I didn't know it only had 8 episodes but sure enough you're right: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_of_Control_(TV_series)#EpisodesI remember thinking it was funny and I just watched it on YouTube and it's funny to me as an adult, too. I actually didn't realize it did only have exactly eight episodes. I just picked a small number out of the air.

Also, even though it wont happen for a couple of years, when they get to The Little Prince, it'll be an interesting way to see how anime was marketed in the 80s.
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot that Belle and Sebastian was also listed.

The episode guide says only 8 episodes were ever done, but in the same article it makes mention of it getting a 26 episode order. Hopefully, that will get cleared up.

Can't wait till they get to David the Gnome an all the anime they had like Nozzles, Grimm Fairy Tale Classics.
Back to Mr. Wizzard, in that video he showed a couple of parodies, but he didn't show any clips from Police Squad, that shoudl have been noted.

It would make more sense that they ordered 24 episodes and produced/aired them instead of airing just 8, but... it's hard to know for sure. I don't remember how many episodes actually aired.

I remember really liking The Adventures of The Little Prince. It was such a strange show. I should read the book it's based on:

I’m just waiting for one show that growing up meant awesome, that meant Nickelodeon.
To paraphrase the open, I dream of following the path of the setting sun, that leads to El Dorado and...
The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Cannot wait for the next episode, been enjoying the series so far and though it's a long long way to go, I can't wait for the 1985 episodes, especially Star Trek: The Animated Series aka the Animated Adventures of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek

If he covers Nick at Nite, I hope he discusses their 80s-90s promos:

If he covers Nick at Nite, I hope he discusses their 80s-90s promos: I know he said he's covering Nick at Nite as one video, since in cable listings it's a seperate channel, but who knows about the promos and such being included. Also for the hell of it since it's been a long time I decided to look at Nick at Nite's current line-up...they just gave up having more than a handful of shows at some point, didn't they?

Yeah, Nick At Nite has been all modern shows (and huge blocks of those shows) for years and years now. Friends, George Lopez, Full House, etc. I much preferred when they aired a lot of old 50's and 60's shows in the 1980's and into the 1990's. Between that, and Nickelodeon airing Lassie and Dennis The Menace I got tis ee some really outstanding classic TV shows.

I agree with your statement about the 50 and 60s shows, but you do realize those shows on Nick and Nite in the 80s and 90s were 20 to 30 years old. The shows you mentioned on Nick and Nite now are about 20 to 30 years old. Feel old yet?

Vic's Vacant Lot
Another episode with no existing footage. But there's still plenty of talk about sweepstakes, Honeycomb Cereal and ESPN.
Next Up: Nick Rocks/The birth of the splat

Looks like a fun series. I assume Double Dare is chronically coming soon.
Can't wait 'til they get to my era with Wild & Crazy Kids, Roundhouse, Clarissa Explains It All, Salute Your Shorts and beyond.
