Black Lightning was at Supermans Funeral Oh Wait that was Sinbad portraying a Super Hero on a SNL Skit The Super Friends don't really count. That's where Black Lightning originated, if I'm not mistaken.

That's where Black Lightning originated, if I'm not mistaken. No, Black Lightning was created for the comics by a guy named Tony Isabella. He has a contract that gives him royalties on the character when used for TV, etc so Black Lightning has never been used. He was replaced by Black Vulcan for Superfriends, and never used in Justice League.

I think the turning of Green Lantern to a black man was probably a move to be politically correct.

Was there even one Asian superhero in JL or JLU?

I think the turning of Green Lantern to a black man was probably a move to be politically correct. Well, the 60s and 70s saw DC do a bunch of stuff that was actually topical (look at the Green Lantern/Green Arrow run back then). So maybe, not an attempt to be politically correct, but an attempt to represent the actual population or something.

I think the turning of Green Lantern to a black man was probably a move to be politically correct. as said before, they didn't TURN the White Green Lantern Black. John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two completely different people. John Stewart existed for years, I don't know where people keep getting the idea that they just made him up for the TV show.

/\ well then I guess it's not my fault I'm apparently the only person here whose actually read the comics I'm not arguing with you. You are 100% right The reason most ppl like myself thought this was some random black dude they drew up is because when you think GL you think of the white guy. I am only casually into comic characters like most people who watched the shows

ah ok sorry I misinterpretted. I myself was taken aback a little when they chose John Stewart myself, but in hindsight I think he was a good choice. and being PC wasn't the reason he was chosen, they chose him because they liked the idea of tinkering with a relatively undeveloped character.

Actually....I think all the animated DC shows are connected.....even if just by reference. Case in point, in a mini-arc in Static Shock, when the Justice League needed his help, Static asked Batman where Robin was, and Batman replied with, "He is with the Teen Titans right now."

Just because it didn't have the Bruce Timm art design?

They're doing a direct to dvd feature of the Judas Contract that won't have any ties to that Titans show, take that for what it is.

Someone asked about Asian superheroes. The only one that comes to mind was Samurai from Super Friends. Does that count?
For the record I always thought Black Canary sucked.

There have been a few Asian superheroes in the DC universe, and while I'm not completely up to date with their books, a few I remember are the second Dr. Midnight, Thunder & Lightning (I THINK), and....uhm...
Hmm.

Hmm. Thunder and Lightning are from Vietnam, so they count. I'll also add Rising Sun and Gloss to the list of Asian Super heroes in the DC Universe.
