So, how would you end this incarnation of the DC universe? Superman: “I have to go now. My planet needs me.” Title card: “Superman died on the way to his home planet.”

Well that large hullabaloo they made announcing it must have been more widely reported. I hadn't heard that

What's the f***ing point of a Flash movie then especially with no Superman and Batman

I do feel a bit bad for Cavill if true. It felt like he so rarely was given the material worthy of the character and his ability. One of the solo bright spots with Justice League was that, by the end of it, they'd finally gotten Superman right.
Still, only a bit bad, because he's got Mission Impossible doing big business right now and The Witcher coming up. He should be fine.
Punk once accused Vince of being a millionaire that should've been a billionaire. That waste of potential nails the DCEU.

Unless there's just a complete impasse at this stage, I have to think WB is going to have to cave on whatever Cavill's asking for pretty soon, given how they're being viewed in all this news.
That said, Cavill may just end up saying "nope, don't want the trouble anymore" and WB could decide they'll just reboot the whole damn thing (like the Flashpoint idea people have brought up), but in the end I think the smart move is to get him on lock. Dude's managed to overcome WB's incompetence and grow his name outside of their umbrella; passing on someone who's managed that is a dumb move.

If it’s true then damn shame. I really liked his as Superman.
Unfortunately it was impossible to be successful. I’ll never understand why Snyder jammed three movies into one on BvS.

I think he's being very firm about getting another solo Superman film, and WB/DC are being wishy-washy. I get that Superman hasn't been a financial success for them in decades, but that's their fault, not the character's. Put Superman in the hands of a competent director like you did with Wonder Woman, and he'll be successful.

He's genuinely better off without them.

I think the writing was on the wall when he publicly declared that the Snyder Cut campaign was a waste of time. Between the troubled productions, critical maulings, underwhelming box office results - which hurts Cavill's earning potential - and the overly obsessive elements of the D.C. fanbase, this could either be a power play to get the next Superman movie made on his terms, or an "enough is enough" situation.

I'll feel bad if Henry can't/won't come back to the role, I think he's made the best Superman since Chris Reeve. Like everyone else said, it's a shame he got saddled with a shithead director who had complete contempt for everything that makes the character special.
I wish I could see what Chris Nolan could do with Henry in the same role.

At this point I have a hard time believing that WB thinks that anybody associated with the DCEU is worth jumping through hoops for to keep around. Even if Gal Gadot threatened to walk they might just decide they're better off letting her go and starting over from scratch.

Of all the problems the DCEU has, he was not one of them. Have fun throwing more good money after bad!
