It's crazy how much better the dark matches always look on paper than the ones that aired.

I also have zero memory of Jimmy Garvin in WWE. This is a must see for that. This was the only thing he ever did for WWE, and it never aired. Turns out he's the infamous "I SAID ARE YOU READY FOR THE SURVIVOR SERIES" from the Wrestlemania song twitter.com/i/status/1197555792242728961

That's crazy, I never knew that Garvin dropped in, let alone did the voice for the Wrestlemania song. I just watched some of the dark matches and Warrior vs. Nailz wasn't that bad, would've been cool to see them feud as a kid.

This Jimmy Garvin thing is so weird. The fact it wasn’t used and the fact in storyline Mean Gene thought Jimmy Garvin of all people was the perfect guy to talk about Survivor Series with.

And it still doesn't solve the mystery of them asking us if we're ready for the Survivor Series in a song about WrestleMania.

The last match with Warrior was supposed to be him vs. Flair but....
WWF @ Phoenix, AZ - America West Arena - October 8, 1992 Charles Barkley was in attendance for the event WWF Tag Team Champions the Natural Disasters vs. Ted Dibiase & IRS The Undertaker vs. Kamala WWF IC Champion Davey Boy Smith vs. Shawn Michaels WWF World Champion Ric Flair fought the Ultimate Warrior to a no contest; during the bout Flair suffered nerve damage in his ear which kept him out of the ring about a month
It's also one of the big reasons Bret won the title a few days later.

My guess is Simon Cowell was a WCW guy who hated WWF but needed that cheddar that only Bret Hart singing would provide.

I wonder what role Jimmy Garvin would have had if hired, a wrestler or a commentator. My guess is the role that went to Jerry Lawler.

I always wondered if The Savage/Ramon match was supposed to air on The Survivor Series Showdown but was pulled due to Warrior firing I bet Savage wore the Ultimate Maniacs gear during it. Can’t wait to see the match that made The Mountie quit And Nailz/Warrior wonder if that’s more the. 30 seconds Why did the Mountie quit over this match?

Would this be the first time (in the WWF era) that a World Champion was injured and therefore the title needed to be changed. If this would have happened in another time when House Show business was different then they could have easily got away with keeping the belt on Flair but back then the champion was the flag bearer of the house show business so they needed a healthy champion.

Good question, I feel like he would've been a heel commentator who wrestles occasionally like Lawler did during that time. From the interview, it didn't seem like there was chemistry with him and Gene during that exchange as he kept interrupting him.

I’ve never seen Gene struggle so much with an interview. Like oil and water. Didn’t help Garvin started the interview with his back to the Camera.

I wonder what role Jimmy Garvin would have had if hired, a wrestler or a commentator. My guess is the role that went to Jerry Lawler. There was a longstanding urban legend that Jimmy was the initial pitch for the Doink gimmick, but that got shot down completely in later years; it still pops up from time to time in cut-n-paste fan sites. Given Jimmy's size and age, even at this point, I don't see McMahon having interest in him in-ring. Strictly mic and maybe manager gig.

No hidden gems this week? Correct. That seems a shame. Considering the history that pro wrestling has had with the Thanksgiving holiday, even before Starrcade and Survivor Series, I gotta believe there are a ton of awesome Hidden Gems floating around out there that would've been perfect for last week.
