As much as it pains me to say it the Rangers should do right by King Henrik & trade him to a cup contender. The man is 36, he doesn't have many seasons left to win one & he sure as shit won't win one with us. Probably won't happen. Lundqvist isn't great anymore, but his salary is still that of a very good goalie. You'd probably want to trade him West if he goes anywhere, and the teams out West who are decent don't really need a goalie. Vegas, LA, Dallas, Minnesota, San Jose, Nashville, Anaheim, and Winnipeg all have their guy. Edmonton might need a goalie, but don't have the space. St. Louis definitely needs a goalie, but don't have the space. Chicago doesn't have the space. Rangers are stuck with him until Shestyorkin comes over. All 3 of those Russian goalies look like they have elite potential, and while I don't agree, the majority seem to think Shestyorkin is the best of the bunch. Allen isn't a terrible goalie if he was a backup. That what I have learned about him that I don't think mentally he can handle the full time starter job. The issue with the Blues is to get a new starter they have to move Allen for cap space. However I want to know just what we have in Husso. Att accounts he always had good AHL numbers. Right now they only played 3 games but he posted a .920 Save % which is better than Allen's. The other factor is most of the Blues defense has played terrible. Petro as looked lost out there. Joel as been the best they have when it comes to playing defense. Everyone else seemed want to be offense first and than Defense. They have plenty of weapons in the forwards this year that they don't need to be. They need to set those guys up and be ready to be able to keep the puck in the zones instead of missing the rebounds and the other team can skate on by and score because you left your goalie out to dry.

Yeah, we suck. Lol. Yeo needs to go. Petro looks completely disinterested, Vlad looks the same. Allen is just not a good goalie. He can play for like 30 minutes every 2 games where he looks like a number 1 goalie, then the wheels come off. He's always challenging, coming to the top of the crease, losing his post. He just sucks at positioning. Sometimes there's just bad deflections or defensive breakdowns, but you can only make so many excuses for a guy who has been good for maybe 3 months out of the last 2 seasons of hockey. We need to play Kyrou and Thomas more, fire Yeo, call up Husso, bench Allen, waive or trade Gunnarsson, and pray Fabbri comes back healthy and Schwartz stays healthy. But knowing the Blues, one of those will happen, if we're lucky.

But knowing the Blues, one of those will happen, if we're lucky. I had so much hope going into this season. I mean Maroon, O'Reilly, Bozak, and Perron coming back and when Thomas a Kyrou made the roster and starting the season healthier than last year. For them to come out shitting the bed is just unacceptable. What I don't get is what is the issue truly because the team seems to have quit on Hitch and now it looking the same for Yeo. Yeo at less can say what the issue is but the issue is that he not able to fix it. Being a good coach is knowing the issue and have the solution. Honestly wished they could some how traded Allen this off season and at the same time kept Hutton. brought up Husso as a back up to Hutton and I think we would be better in goal than what we have now. Blowmester, Gunnarson, and Bortuzzo are free agents after the season. They can all go, give Joel a long term and sign someone else who is younger and put defense first over offense as defense men.

So this happened in the Rangers/Kings game: -Namestnikov (NYR) shoots at net. Puck is going above Campbell's shoulder. -Lewis (LAK) shoves Namestnikov into Campbell. Puck crosses line as net gets shoved back by the 2 falling players. -Refs call no goal on goalie interference. -Refs have play reviewed. Declared goal is good as puck went in legally. -Kings challenge the goal. -Refs declare goal stands.
All that happened in about a 10-minute span.

Mikko Rantanen became just the third Finn ever to lead NHL in scoring. Can you guys guess who were the previous two and when?

Saku Koivu, before his knee injury in 1996. Saku was something. Well on his way to becoming a premiere center until his various health problems. Still a good career, but gotta wonder where he could have gone.

Still a good career, but gotta wonder where he could have gone. Dude was told to put on some muscle, which hindered his best attributes and made him "just" the player he became instead of a premiere center.

Rangers on a 3-game winning streak. I know it's minor, but the way the season started, it's almost a miracle they got 3-in-a-row.

I know it's early, but was last season a fluke for Vegas?

Wow, end of an era for the Hawks. Q was in a tough spot given their cap position and a terrible goalie situation. Really tough position for him to be successful in. Someone is gonna get a pretty good coach.

NJ Devils center Brian Boyle, who had just learned his leukemia is in remission earlier that day, scored his first career hat trick against the Penguins last night.
It was also Hockey Fights Cancer Night. Really happy for him and it's a hell of a night (pun not intended) to perform that feat.

I'm not really for firing the guy who helped bring the Hawks back from mediocrity in the late 00's, and helped win the Cup 3 times, and the first time since 1961. Plus he only missed the playoffs one time in his tenure with the Hawks. But we'll see how this plan goes. It'll probably be a massive train wreck, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
