Also the Devils had like 3 second round picks this year, so giving up one of them wasn't a big deal.

Rangers got Kaapo Kakko with the #2 pick. The way he's talked about, you'd think he's the next Tikkanen, Jokinen, or dare I say it, Selanne. A better comparison is Mikko Rantanen, but matured faster into a good player than he did. Physically a beast, already has a full season of men's hockey in Finland. Shocking if he doesn't turn into a All-Star player.

Rumors all but official:
Pavelski to the Stars, which sucks. They're gonna be very good next year. But thankfully they also signed Corey Perry who is as done as done can be.
Bob goes to Florida to no one's surprise.
Spezza to Toronto.

Sounds like Duchene to the Preds I f***ing hate the Central. Hawks get Dach, who is huge and probably the best passer in the draft. Avs get the best defenseman in the draft and have Makar up all year next season. Stars add Pavelski. Preds get Duchene, but lose Subban. Wild get Zuccarello, but after giving away Nino last year. And the Jets are still strong.

In what looks to be a move to help land Artemi Panarin, the Rangers have traded Jimmy Vesey to the Sabres for a 2021 3rd rounder.

Sad to see Joe Pavelski go to the Stars, but I knew he wasn't coming back to San Jose

Rangers land Artemi Panarin. 7yr/$81.5m. He's a very good player, but that's a silly amount of money for him

Thereβs always the Aβs...oh wait, our guys will be traded for magic beans next year. And the 49ers donβt have any talent to sell off.

Trade between the Leafs and the Avalanche Avalanche get: Nazeem Kadri Calle Rosen 2020 3rd Round pick Leafs get: Tyson Barrie Alex Kerfoot 2020 6th Round Pick Leafs doing what they can to clear space for Mitch Marner while also attempting to improve the D. Solid move for both teams but I give the edge to the Avs

UrinatingTree is going to likely do another video In Which All Optimism Dies thanks to Pittsburgh inexplicably bringing in Brandon Tanev on a heavy deal. His meltdown in his livestream was THE MOST EPIC OF YINZERING. Poor guy.

Wayne Simmonds signs a one-year deal with the Devils. He isn't what he used to be, but he should make a good addition to the power play unit at least.

Just saw this Lemieux video on YT. I always loved the dude as a kid, playing as him in Blades of Steel and NHL94 and I can remember taping his comeback game in 2001 on VHS. But some bits I didn't know from this video:
-Mario's 1.88 points per game is insanely close to Gretzky's 1.92 points a game, and take out his last few years, he's at 1.99. Insane. -Mario didn't sit on flights or tie his own skates due to back trouble.
And most impressively:
-He received surgery and 22 radiation treatments for hodgkin's lymphoma in 93 (which I knew) and returned immediately to score 51 points in the remaining 16 games. That's inhuman. That is on par with Gretzky's best streaks in his all-time best 215 point season. To come back from THAT to score at a pace on par with the best stretch, by the best scorer ever, having the best scoring season ever. I can't comprehend that. That's akin to a baseball player coming back and hitting 20 HRs in a month, a RB coming back and rushing for 12 TDs in 4 games, or a basketball player coming back and averaging 45 points a game for a month.

He was one of the best ever to play the game and fun to watch. Just think what his career would been like if he didn't have the back issue that took him out for so many years. Him and Gretzky would been a debate for years of who was the GOAT.
