And dammit I guess FYE and all cleared out/figure fans bought all out. There goes my get rich ideas on eBay. Bruh: Since all the happenings have happened I keep flashing back to just a few weeks ago, browsing Target, and just stopped to check out a Black Series Cara Dune figure. Don’t buy figures anymore. Dunno what it was but I just kind of checked it out like “Huh”. Been kicking myself since lol..

They actually brought the fanbase closer together Everyone agreed that the first two stunk Kids loved them, I'll grant them that. I know way too many 20-25 year-olds who still think the prequels were great. I'm 35 and I think those three have the strongest narrative of the nine movies. It helps that there was an actual planned outcome they were working toward, so they are much more focused than IV-VI and VII - IX And Phantom Menace deserves to be appreciated for the technical marvel that is Jar Jar Binks, who even after 20 years still looks really good.

Jar Jar looks just as intrusively horrible now as he did back in 1999.
The prequels aren't focused. They are clumsy and contrived.

And in 10-20 years, there will be a new legion of fans on the internet that genuinely loves the sequel trilogy and thinks the newest Star Wars movies are hot garbage. Fandom is a cycle.

This honestly still baffles me as a Star Wars fan from the jump. Loved the OT, made opening nights for all the prequels (actually liked them, if not all the elements). The only thing that turned me off Star Wars was it being a pillar of a relationship that went south and it kind of needed a break because of the memories. Force Awakens brought me back and been going strong ever since. Sure, not in love with all elements (Episode 1 has problems, first 20 minutes of Solo are not good), but honestly, it’s still the same franchise I fell in love with. It’s the rabid hatred by a subsection of the fan base that is new. I shudder to think what they said about Leia in the OT or Padmé in the Prequels.

The only Star Wars movie I actively dislike is Attack of the Clones and even then, I'd still watch it over a lot of other stuff if it's on TV.
I guess the Clone Wars movie counts, too, but that's less a movie and more haphazardly put together pilot episodes of a TV masquerading as a movie. And then the series itself turned out to be phenomenal, so I just think of that as another quality series where it just took a bit to find its creative mojo.

I'm with the two of you. At the end of the day, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. It's f***ing Star Wars!

Id like Revan to be the big bad of whatever comes next, or f*** it.. Do KOTOR. Not everyone has the patience for an RPG sitdown.
Or bring in Mira as an antagonist/mentor for Rey. So much stuff to pick from since DISNEY is actually interested in using the EU add ons (ha ha Lucas, thats what u get!!!)

The rabidly hateful people, like the faux Disney/Marvel superfans that RLM parodied on The Nerd Crew, are more interested in getting clicks for their social media accounts and eyes on their YouTube channels. Star Wars, like other franchises, is just a useful vehicle for their bullshit. As for Leia, she's iconic in the OT. No one should have any reasonable objection to her depiction in those three movies. Padme however is one of the worst written characters in the entire franchise.

That’s pretty much my take on the main SW series. Heck, even the Holiday Special, which in a vacuum certainly isn’t good, has a goofy charm to it and can be poked fun at without my brain falling out halfway (unlike films such as Catwoman, or a Seltzer/Friedberg flick).

I believe that one was on George. He hired a team to make a TV pilot and then, suddenly, he wanted it to be a wide release in theaters. Thing is, by the time he made that decision, they were already well into post-production. That's if I'm remember events correctly.

I am like 90% sure the idea to make it a movie was like a zero hour thing...

It’s Thrawn’s time dammit! Screw Thrawn!!!!!!! Lmao In all seriousness: Thrawn is a good fit for The Mandalorian in terms of the already existing canon. He was off conquering the uncharted territories during the events of the original films, right? The First Order developed in the uncharted territories. The First Order=the remnants of The Empire that Thrawn left behind when he returned to try to defeat the New Republic.

I selfishly just wanna see KOTOR represented somehow cinematic
