At present, Star Wars: The Mandalorian is preparing to film a sequence for the third season of the series. The sequence is currently casting actors and finding creative ways to use fan costumers in the squence to fill around 75 different Mandalorian suits of armor. It is my understanding that the the featured Mando will cast local actors whereas the background moments will use costumers from the fandom.
It appears that Boba Fett and Din Djarin’s path is one many Mandlorian’s took after Palpatine’s plans tore the galaxy apart, including Mandalore. An interesting tidbit is that these 75 Mandos are also going to do some armor swapping of pieces to create even more variants to be seen on screen. Depending on what they need, that can lead to a whole lot of combinations for these dingy, yet colorful sequences.
A few of the samples I saw in various forms really have a Boba Fett vibe in that their armor is patchwork with different colors and pieces. If you are a collector or a fan of Mandos, you’re going to dig it.
While details are still sparse, it sounds like disparate individual Mandalorians from around the galaxy answer a call Din Djarin sends out to the galaxy for help. Din Djarin’s legend is growing throughout the galaxy as rumors of a true Mandalore returning is heard throughout the galaxy. When Din makes the call, it is answered by more Mandalorians that you could have ever imagined.
I am also pretty sure I saw a few pieces of red armor from Maul’s Mando’s in The Clone Wars. This makes me think this is a unifying moment for Mandalore where the past is left behind and they move forward and probably kick a lot of ass. There were also some clan symbols I recognize and some I never saw before.
I’m sure there’s a lot of missing context here. It can’t be that easy!
