Meaning what players are the 4 best from your city teams. This is inspired by Thursday Night Football showing Boston version of it and they are f***ing stacked

Currently: Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Mark Messier (sadly) and Patrick Ewing.
Historically, it would be Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Joe Namath and Lawrence Taylor
I'm sure Martin Brodeur would fit in there somewhere, but I'm not giving the Devils credit for anything.

I'm only a fan of one Chicago team, but they are the closest major city.
Michael Jordan Walter Payton Frank Thomas Ernie Banks Stan Mikita (if you want to include soccer, Karl-Heinz Granitza)
Although, realistically, all of them would be Bears.
(Edit: I missed there could only be 4. Stan would have a tough time cracking that lineup.)

Babe Ruth Mark Messier Lawrence Taylor Willis Reed
But New York is so much fun, you could do one for every team

Joe Namath being on there really bothers me. He's really wasn't more than above average.

Stan Musial and Brett Hull are two definites. The rest is a toss-up, one could push for maybe a Marshall Faulk, or a variety of Cardinal players.

Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Dimmaggio. (sorry Jeter doesn't hold a candle to those guys maybe Gerhig but that's because his career was cut short) Ah what the hell... Mets- Tom Seaver, Mike Piazza, Dwight Gooden, David Wright Rangers- Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Rod Gilbert, Henrik Lundqvist Islanders- Mike Bossy, Brian Trottier, Dennis Potvin(Sucks!), Billy Smith Knicks- Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Patrick Ewing, Dave Debusschere Nets- Jason Kidd, Julius Erving, Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson Giants- Lawrence Taylor, Michael Strahan, Eli Manning, Phil Simms Jets- Joe Namath, Curtis Martin, Darelle Revis, Don Maynard

The damn Yankees are insane. A straight up NYC Rushmore? Ruth(most historical impact of any Yankee), Lawrence Taylor(Greatest at his position, terrifying part? Imagine him with NO drugs), Mess(won the Cup with the Rangers, ended the curse. Though one could argue a member of the Forgotten Dynasty) and Willis Reed(Pat just couldn't get that ring and to be fair, thank Jordan & Hakeem for that.)

Patrick Ewing will never live down that finger roll tho in 95 but even in saying that idk if they beat Orlando that year much less Houston in the finals

In thinking about the Nets it's a shame they never did get to win a ring. Kenyon Martin/Kidd combo is underrated as time passes by

But to The Dream. '93-'95 Hakeem was such a problem. When dudes dails were at 12, he went 15. His defense, footwork and hustle was otherworldly. Hakeem at that point could take on any other great big man, before & after, and give them work.

There's a reason for the last 15 years or so dudes have gone to Hakeem for footwork. Kobe went to see him every summer along with others like Dwight Howard (that didn't really work). People are so hype on Embiid now because of the comparisons to Hakeem but dude in his prime was an animal

It’s relative. I live in Bloomington, so my hometown list would be all IU players.
I live near Indianapolis, but since they lack a lot of sports teams (and the longest time only had the Pacers) the list would be Peyton Manning (Colts), Reggie Miller and Mel Daniels (Pacers) and either Dwight Freeney (Colts), Oscar Robinson (went to high school in Indy), or the Indianapolis Speedway itself.
