Football can have very quick turnaround. It just requires an owner to recognize the reality of the situation. John Mara, right now, is not that guy.
I wouldn't call the Knicks a good or even decent team right now, but they're young and scrappy. They're building something and Fizdale's the right coach to guide them along. I also think the Knicks' Front Office acknowledging that winning isn't their primary goal this year has given a lot of Knicks fans a sense of optimism about the future. And proves wrong the idea that you can't do a rebuild in New York.
I think that got dispelled a few years ago with Cashman and the Yankees rebuild. People were almost begging for it telling them it's okay we understand, we just want a brighter future and Yankees went from old and ailing to young and good real fast Knicks fans and Brooklyn fans too see the trees in the forest. If the rebuild goes right it's another year or two of BS before things are looking legit. Knicks right now are looking good with Fizdale being a coach who is likeable and while Knicks aren't winning, people see the process. Add on KP coming back stronger next year and a potential key FA and they are looking good Jets seem to be moving in right direction but it's still a ways away but their is optimism
but we've seen the knicks and nets get good then go to shit again quickly before.

They already have a young all star on the mend who could still potentially be a superstar, management that has a gameplan and a coach who is getting everyone to buy in and people love him
Brooklyn has been trending up and have some good and underrated players on their team. OVO 40 hunched over like he 80 going me his life if D'Angelo Russell make the All Star team lmao I like their coach and Marks has done a great job as GM weathering that storm and setting the team up to get good picks and possibly a key FA

If that snitch squealer scrub D’Angelo Russell makes the All Star team I may fall into a coma. The nets are so pathetic that their biggest success are ABA championships and they don’t count. Also their owner might be the most corrupt owner on all sports.

This is more college related but Louisville right now is beyond dire. The basketball program is in well documented shambles over the Katina Powell thing and is also facing a potential repeat offender situation with the FBI investigation (as in possible death penalty). And good grief the football team clearly is terrible post Lamar Jackson and it is obvious that Bobby Petrino is mentally done at this point and could care less after Tom Jurich was fired as AD. I guess Chris Mack has had a great recruiting class for 2019 but we'll see if any of these guys decommit if this FBI court case leads to really awful NCAA penalties. Louisville City FC won the USL Championship last season and is in the finals again, just so you know.

Before this year, the city with teams in all four leagues with the longest championship drought was Washington, but the Caps ended that. Don't know who it is now....

Yeah I know about Louisville winning the USL, but I'm referring to actual serious sports, haha.

Not only that, but the Wild and T-Wolves have never won their league's championships (Granted the Wild is a pretty new team, having only existed since 2000, but the Minnesota North Stars didn't win a cup either until becoming the Dallas Stars). And while the Vikings won the last ever pre-merger NFL Championship, they've never won a Super Bowl.
The Twin Cities are a pretty sad place to be a sports fan. Teams in all big four sports and only one has won a modern day championship.

They got the Lynx, but the WNBA IS a joke.

I wouldn't call the actual games played in the WNBA a joke. I know the Futurama joke writes itself when I say this, but they really do have solid fundamentals in WNBA games (and now they're starting to dunk o_<). A lot of NBA players watch WNBA games for that reason, too.

As much as I hate them, the Islanders are making me eat crow right about now.
