Can we turn Fritz’ impression about being a role model into a running gag here on FAN?
The f***ing hypocrisy, of him claiming that the Von Erich’s were one of the most respected family in the country? Or putting a chaplain in WCCW?

Gary Hart explained why the kids rebelled, Fritz f***ed them over in the payoffs. Great father...

I feel like you could probably cut the show down two or three hours if you cut out all the incessant cackling and unfunny jokes. The amount of research they do is great, and I don't mind the longer shows..but there are only so many times I can hear someone winded after laughing so hard after something that wasn't funny in the first place.

I’m the process of listening to them now. Jack’s paraphrasing of Moby Dick to mirror the Von Erich’s was deep as hell and spot on. And JP’s Fritz impression is great even if it does seem to invoke Lapsed Vince at times.

I love the moby dick comparison, Fritz drowned and dragged his whole family down with him chasing the NWA championship.

The hosts mention at the beginning that Fritz scorched the earth for wrestling in Texas. Is anyone here from Texas and a wrestling fan back then? Like where the Von Erichs that big of a taboo or embarrassment?

So next week they’ll keep on Fritz or the rest of the family? Next week they will start covering actual shows, their buildup, and tell the story of other WCCW players.

"The best podcast from start to close"
Honestly, it's only The Lapsed Fan and Jim Cornette who continue to hold my interest in wrestling today.

Like where the Von Erichs that big of a taboo or embarrassment? I don’t think it was an embarrassment. It was the fact their hearts were broke. It wasn’t just the Von Erich’s, they had genuine love for a lot of the WCCW cast, and after their hearts were torn from their chests, they could never invest in loving a wrestling company quite the same.

That’s sad. An entire community, f*** an entire state fell for Fritz’s bullshit. They thought they were good boys and a wholesome family, when apparently Mike Von Erich in the hospital was bragging about drugs and sex escapades, then Kerry was smuggling drugs, and Fritz bought them prostitutes when they were teenagers...

Damn OP you turned me into a lapsed addict, now I’m hearing the AWA saga. I can’t stop laughing about them laughing that a f***ing rinky dink wrestling company hired Fred Aster for a f***ing movie.

Ok this is turning into my f***ing favorite podcast of all time.
I’m in the AWA saga, JP’s impression of Verne Gagne as a senile and cheap conman is as funny as Fritz or his Lapsed Vince.
There were f***ing orgies with the wrestlers and the rats holy f***. Larry Nelson was a cokehead.

You’ve got a heck of a big backlog to get through. My favorite part of the AWA saga was Rod Trongrad and Verne’s disappointment with Greg which is totally justified. Check out the Starrcade Journey if you want to know about orgies Gordon Solie & Lee Marshall know what’s up.
