Just noticed Kenny has the grey hair back instead of the blonde he had when he won the title I feel like that might be a tip-off. If he loses, him going heel might be how they write out the Bucks. Yea, all signs seems to point to him going back to his more heelish roots Then again it seems a lot of guys have gone back to some of their old selves with Okada and Naito doing so earlier

I think I'm digging this more than I did Omega / Okada. I'm really liking the gradually-tearing-each-other-to-pieces structure of it.

Now I want to see a Tanahashi Bloody Sunday. After the Tana Gun Stun He'll hit one and commentary will call it the TKO. Then another called the Go Ace Cutter.

I didn't "get" Tanahashi when I started watching last year.
I got it after his match with Ibushi, and again now.

Right, so I’ve watched a few of these Wrestle Kingdoms now, and I kind of want to get a better grasp of what New Japan gets right with their Wrestle Kingdom cards that WWE doesn’t get right with WrestleMania cards, because on the surface I feel like there are lot of similarities and I’m missing extra context because I’m not a regular New Japan guy (for example, the difference between WWE’s weekly TV schedule and New Japan’s schedule). I think WWE try to be too fancy with their match order. Like, they'll have one of their World title matches opening the card or such.
For example, in a Wrestlemania structure Naito vs Jericho would have been swapped with Cody vs Juice.
But in NJPW, they order the titles pretty linearly on the card. They threw a curve ball by having the Openweight open the card this time around, which has traditionally been further up the card. This made fans fear that it'd burn the crowd out too early (especially with it being Ibushi vs Ospreay). But that hasn't happened.

Right now they're unstrapping Kota Ibushi's corpse to retrieve Tanahashi. Poorly, I might add.

There's a lot of elements, but I think the biggest one as far as immediate live show enjoyment is that it's constant. One match goes right into another, and paradoxically, wall-to-wall wrestling is easier to stomach than how WWE spaces everything out and prolongs the show with as much extraneous content as possible. Only the last couple matches on a WK card get video packages. I've seen a lot of people online insist that Wrestlemania isn't really "for" the conventional internet wrestling fan "us". It's a PR-heavy entertainment extravaganza meant for WWE to celebrate itself and give casual fans celebrities and nostalgia and all that stuff. So with WK You get high quality matches moving by quickly, the show paced enough to not make it completely exhausting, while WWE makes sure to pad out the show with a ton of other stuff that isn't really what anyone is tuning into, extending the length of the show and making it a rougher sit because the downtime induces impatience more than excitement. WK is a show structured in a way purists and casual fans alike can enjoy. Wrestlemania is structured very specifically for something a little more nebulous.

can't wrestlers just reset the countout by rolling in and straight out of the ring?

And the fans are conditioned to this structure
