Just saw Omega’s entrance. “Hopes & Dreams” is one of my favorite video game songs ever, so I adored it.

Also, one thing I need to bring up my appreciation for.
One thing that's been common amongst Okada's reigns at the top is that he's rarely had the absolute adoration of the fans. NJPW's booking to the live crowd make this less of an issue compared to say Roman Reigns, as the matches will be booked to take full advantage. While Okada will generally be cheered over a Bullet Club or against Tanahashi before he finally supplanted him. Okada would always find himself as the crowd's heel against chasers such as Shibata, Naito and Omega. Now this suited the Rainmaker gimmick well and good, but while the reign of Okada was highly applauded due to the consistent and fantastic match quality, this never really was reflected by the crowd taking his side in a match the same way to me.
But then he drops the belt, and the fans can now fully appreciate the Rainmaker without the conflicting desire to support the challenger to his belt. But something happens... He dyes his hair red, he gets long pants, his theme changes and then there's the balloons. The Rainmaker has evaporated, and now the crowd are left with a weird guy going through what is essentially a mental breakdown what he sees as the premature end to his legacy.
And Jay White is there to pick up the pieces. Gedo betrays him, CHOAS is seemingly falling apart, and Okada is out of contention for his belt.
But then Wrestling Kingdom happens, and the Rainmaker returns in all his glory. And the fans rejoice. Okada has the entirety of the Tokyo Dome behind him, supporting the Rainmaker.
But in a cruel twist, the Rainmaker isn't enough. He may have returned, he may have had 40,000 people cheering him to get his revenge. But there's still something missing.
I cannot wait to see what's next for Okada.

On the subject of Jay White, he's fantastic. Not out there trying to get the most stars from a match (*cough*Kenny) and playing up his character so well. He was, far and away, the most interesting person in NJPW in 2018. Like, it wasn't even close. In fairness tho from a character and in ring standpoint, that was the best Kenny I’ve seen in a long a while He wasn’t out there just doing moves for the sake of it, everything felt calculated to what he’s been saying and while I liked him vs Okada just because that was insanity, this was the better match that told a great story Oh, don't get me wrong. When Kenny isn't trying to be a moves machine, he's great. I loved the G1 matches against Sabre and Ishii last year for that reason.

I also just wanna mention that, like, I think this was probably the most consistently positive live thread for any show on here I've ever seen.

No one should judge him for taking a deal if he’s being offered an obscene amount of money. No-one should, but people on Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit are losing their everloving minds throwing around the "Kenny sold out" and "Kenny's killed NJPW and indie wrestling" rhetoric. People are stupid. Woke up still bummed at Kenny losing but watching the show live was worth it. I might watch some of the matches again today. bet I made would have almost had me shave my head lol

Yeah even the Cody match was just used as a piss break and was kept short No real bad vibes whatsoever despite who won or lost. Just a good fun night overall

Two things...
1) Whatever Kenny does he should keep Hopes and Dreams or some mix of it as his theme if possible.
2) Leaving aside I do wonder if The Elite making jokes and such on BTE about lack of royalties and all that from tshirt sales from NJPW might have something to do with everyone losing. Or at least in the fashion. Cody kinda went out in the most "guy leaving the area way" I think. Be it I was nodding off at times there.
I also couldn't tell if Kenny is supposed to be leaning towards a heel now or not. The switch from happy go lucky Omega who just wants to bring his style to the front and change the world to jerk who was acting like the old Omega seemed rather sudden if I haven't missed something.

They could have done the RAMBO and put the Gauntlet on the main card, but the show would've been over 5 and a half hours if they did.

I loved the show. Sorry I couldn't be around the rest of the live thread especially as someone who was up at a sane time for it, but my stream was crapping out so badly that it literally skipped from Okada taking off his entrance gear to Jay White already at 1 on the winning pin, then i just decided "oh forget it I'll watch it later"

Kenny Omega needs his old theme back especially if he’s going heel The theme he had was fine but it’s probably something he should been using since Tama split the Bullet Club It was also a little too upbeat for him It was a theme from Undertale. I doubt he's keeping it.
