Movie's looking to do about $125 million for the weekend, underperforming compared to the $140-$165 million it was being projected at. That'd still make for the third biggest animated opening weekend of all time so not exactly disastrous, and it's still better than Toy Story 3's, but does make you wonder if some small amount of fatigue with the franchise is settling in.

The film's a critical darling, but reactions appear to be mixed from the actual public.

I think it’s more that people just went to the movies for the Avengers, Captain Marvel, and Aladdin along with big movies that share their target demographic like the How To Train Your Dragon sequel (which made more money that Pikachu?!) and Detective Pikachu. Not everybody has the budget to go to five-six movies in three months

I thought it was tremendous..... but I think this needs to be the end. I thought 3 wrapped up the franchise perfectly and while this really didn’t ruin anything..... more sequels might. Now, spin-offs??? I could see that.

If they do a spinoff, Combat Carl should be the main character.

I just saw it, and I’m not sure where I’d rank it among the four movies at this point, but it’s very very good.
The director (Josh Cooley) is bringing a unique sense of humor and timing to tthis series that the other movies haven’t tried yet. The character development is solid, and Forky is funny but Ducky, Bunny and Duke Caboom steal the movie.

A series a shorts where Forky asks one of the other toys a question about life.

Saw it today. It’s very good. Very touching and funny. I didn’t like it as much as three but I enjoyed it a lot. I did cry a good bit at the end. Keanu, Key and Peele steal the show. {Spoiler}the extended sequence of Ducky and Bunny proposing different plans to get the keys that were all the same was hysterical.

I thought it was the weakest Toy Story film overall, but still great and better than 92% of all animated films ever produced. Ducky & Bunny stole the show, but I really have to give it up to the writers - Bo Peep was a great all-around character.
We thought there was one item left unresolved... then they fixed it in the post-credits scene.

Finally got a chance to watch it and enjoyed it tremendously. Here's my YouTube review of the fourth film.

Saw it today. It's tremendous. I find it hard to rank them but it's in the same category as the others for me. Definitely teared up a bit. It's so weird to watch because I started with this franchise as a kid and now I work with kids. I grew up without it and without spoiling anything, there's a lot of growing up in this movie. Everyone should go see it.

I saw it today. Excellent. Not as good as the first 3, but they are 3 of the best ever animated movies. It definitely does the series justice.
So funny, and the ending was really touching. Caboom, Ducky and Bunny were great.
The plan scene and getting the key is the funniest scene in the entire series.
Downside, the rest of the gang barely featured. Jessie had a really minor role, Slinky had like one line, Potato Head barely appeared. That was disappointing.

But to be fair to Mr Potato Head the family of the late Don Rickles actually wanted to hear him one last time as the character. So Pixar went through all unused (in the films) recordings of him .. from test recordings, scenes that were not animate from the first three films, shorts, games and rides.. and used anything useful in the film. Obviously it wasn’t much.

Regarding Bonnie & Woody {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} I know she was paying less and less attention to him, but I still thought it was a bit weird that Bonnie apparently never even noticed or cared that Woody had just disappeared permanently from her toys.

Saw it today and whilst, yeah, it was the weakest Toy Story, it was still a joyful movie and told its own story really well. I agree with everyone that Ducky and Bunny and Duke stole the show from everyone. {Spoiler} And whilst I wasn’t bawling like a baby like the ending of Toy Story 3, damn did my eyes well up when Gabby Gabby was given to that lost girl. Also didn’t know that was Christina Hendricks until I looked up Gabby’s name. Didn’t recognize her at all.
