The production appears to be a step up from Paige's last movie I think I'm actually looking forward to seeing this. Maybe not "at the theater" good, but I'll totally catch it on Netflix/WWENetwork or whereever it ends up “Paige was in a movie befo.......OHHHHHHHH” me just then. I know, right? I always forget she was in that Christmas movie with Miz.

i'll probably check it out on Netflix or something, but i'm not going to spend money to see a WWE whitewashing of her life story. its the little things that are bugging me, because they're unnecessary but WWE does it anyway because there is no wrestling outside of WWE, just them and only them. like while yes there is a possibility she could have done it, i have a hard time picturing Paige making a cardboard WWE Divas Championship and posing with it in the mirror, because when that belt was introduced she'd already been wrestling for two years. and i love how at the WWE training camp she went by the name Paige even though at that point she'd spent her entire career competing under the name Britani Knight, and her initial name in developmental was Saraya. then there's the stuff they were either too stingy or lazy (or both) to do right, like having Vince Vaughn wear a shirt with the current WWE logo at the tryout instead of spending an extra two bucks for a shirt with the scratch logo which they used until 2014. it makes the whole thing look cheap. I'm gonna go with saying the cardboard Divas Championship is silly because I worked for WAWW/Bellatrix so I know their actual title belts are usually lying in a gym bag somewhere in that house if she ever wanted to pose with a Women's Championship. Hey, just any women's championship isn't the illustrious Diva's tramp stamp title.

I really wanted them to go full "Jesse Ventura Story" with this movie. Paige beats Trish Stratus in revenge like Rocky 4 after Trish and Stephanie McMahon's non-union probably more evil equivalent cheat AJ Lee out of the Divas Title just like the Montreal incident and run her out of wrestling and into a life of alcoholism and despair.

The only reason I’ll probably check this out is to see if I can find myself in the crowd during one of the show segments.

I like Nick Frost and Lena Headey so I'm looking forward to them playing Paige's parents. Vince Vaughn as a WWE coach though? I don't know about that. Vaughn is a rather large man, I could believe he was a pro wrestler in his youth.

Trailer looks bad,but hard to imagine something written by Stephant Merchant and with Florence Pugh as the lead actress would be bad even if it looks like Paint By Numbers Biopic. I would imagine Rock 2 scenes in the trailer are his only 2 in the movie and he is only a big focus of the trailer cause he is Producer/the studio thinks his presence will sell tickets.

Looks like something you can pop up during a day off and watch while you're cleaning. I might peep it when it eventually comes to the WWE Network or Youtube, idk.
And the actor who's playing Paige has really got her mannerisms down. Voice too.

The actor playing Paige is great, and her Dad.
It looks alright, I'll probably check it out. Rock's vanity scenes look lame though.

This doesn’t look awful actually and being a Paige fan, I’d like to give it a watch. But I live in Kentucky, so odds are not until DVD/blu-ray.
As to past WWE movies, yeah, they didn’t set the world on fire but original Condemned and Marine at least played well. That’s Who I Am looked good, Randy Orton going to the papers aside, and who knows Chaperone might have had a bigger audience if Ariel Winter had been closer to puberty.
Just saying.
Anyway, give this a watch when I can.

Pete Not-Quite-Dunne caught my eye in that scene. Dude called Pete Dunne a woman, well that woman went on to be one of the most talked about rising talents on the scene and a 500+ day WWE champion so good swing there lad

It’s basically a WWE Studio film because they own the trademarks. And not all of their films go straight to DVD, they’ve had several cinema releases too. I'd imagine film 4 are involved because it was Channel 4 which film 4 is an offshoot of who did the original doc about the knight family.

Bit of a stretch to claim that she "changed the game," but sure...looks like a Redbox rental. A stretch, but one could argue that Paige was the start of WWE hiring women who were wrestlers first instead of hiring models and training them to be wrestlers. She was who Hunter picked to be the female face of NXT's relaunch. The revolution of women's wrestling in WWE started with her. And Tenille Dashwood, but we don't mention her.

I really want to support this project, because I dig the talent behind it, I'm a big Nick Frost and Stephen Merchant fan, but...ehhhhhhhh. This has all the earmarks of them taking Paige's life story and turning it into a "Look how progressive the WWE is towards women, giving this girl a chance" at the expense of actually telling Paige's story. It's just...it's not going to be good.

Vaughn is a rather large man, I could believe he was a pro wrestler in his youth. People are often surprise by how big he is when they meet him, he's something like 6'4" and 225lbs. Granted, he's not an athletic guy, but as you say, he's believable as a middle-aged retired pro-wrestler. Plus, he was on the amateur wrestling team in high school.

Early reviews are... actually pretty good?
General consensus seems to be it's nothing groundbreaking, but a solid feel-good story that sometimes veers into schmaltz territory.

I got an invite to a free screening of this (I'm assuming everyone did?) and I can't bring myself to go. I don't want to waste the gas on what will most definitely be an awful movie.

I'm wanting to be interested in it, but I'm really having a hard time getting past the fact that I couldn't possibly care less about Paige's story. On top of that you have the weird mix of mostly actors playing wrestlers, but The Rock playing himself. Definitely looks like the best bits will be Paige's family, especially Nick Frost. Looks like probably a 48-51 on the Tomato-meter, at best. I thought that said "Tomko-meter", and imagined him as a movie critic.
