With Gail, it's not like she had the control of bookings. JJ was. Another thing to consider is that before the WWE women wrestlers thing took off in recent years, Gail was the best at her job in North America at least. Above and beyond anybody else in her gender. That cannot be said with JJ who at his peak was barely a Top 50 guy in North America and was viewed as second rate midcard at a time when wrestling mattered when WCW and the WWF were ruling the scene. Sure he did his job well i think as a heel in TNA. But it's never good when you have a third-tier talent dominating so much. It had to take Sting for JJ beating him at BFG in 06 for him to finally go away. And then he got back and defeated Joe and Angle in 2010. In many ways, Gail became a problem when TNA was its lowest, where they seemed to want to return to her cause they had nobody else.
Not her fault Gaburick and Al Snow sucked in Talent Relations, Impacts current KOs roster is probably the strongest since 2012.

Jarrett was pretty much trying to book TNA & himself as Memphis/Lawler 2.0. He was running as a heel & wanted nothing more than to become the beloved babyface that sat atop the promotion. His selfishness and fatal flaw never allowed him to see that he was a solid midcard guy who could have helped in so many other ways. I don’t think there’s any comparison here.

To be honest, the thing that makes me believe her remotely is her saying it's a valid point. Like, so few wrestlers are willing to just say 'yeah the fans might have a point there' about this kind of shit. Look at Kevin Nash, decades after he needs to care about putting people over, still rarely admits that he did something out of self-interest.

He still says the payoff to the Fingerpoke of Doom was thrown out when Goldberg injured himself punching the window shortly after the Fingerpoke, despite the Fingerpoke happening in January and Goldberg's injury happening 11 months later.

Gail was up to some real shit, but there was a firm case to be made for her being at the top, maybe not at periods like her retirement match where she won the title, but definitely during other times. She was a genuine, bonafide top star for the women and someone who should have been there. I don't think Jeff ever should have been givevn the top run he did and I don't think there was anywhere near that kind of case to be made. Also, even if you assume Gail did fight for what she got, the company still gave it to her, they still saw her as a star and as worth pushing, and never reined her in. Jeff had the book, he was running that shit and got to book uimself into that run, that is worlds more out there to me in terms of selfishness.

There are plenty of other things that ruined the KOs before Gail. And even now the division isn't that horrible.
TNA/Impact will never escape Jarrett's mistakes.
Also, I have never met a wrestling fan, TNA fan or otherwise, who has ever said they would watch a promotion for Jeff Jarrett.
None. Maybe a post here and there on social media, but not even on the many wrestling forums I've been in have I ever heard, "I want to watch this promotion/event because of Jeff Jarrett".
