Hard to believe he did all of this in 1 year too. One year and look at how far he went with it. Interestingly enough Blueface is similar. The difference is that yesterday Blueface was arrested and they found a loaded gun on him so he's out on bail, still shit. A lot of dudes get on these days and then they f*** up somehow rather than keeping their heads down. It's stupid. Quiet as it's kept, Blueface already f***ed up getting signed to four labels, and hasn't even seen his own paperwork. All I keep hearing in the back of my head is Exodus 23:1. SMH.

It was over for Blueface before it got started. He knows he doesn't control shit about his future at this point. With Wack 100 and Birdman in the picture especially. All that gang shit don't mean nothing when you got pay taxes to be a hood celebrity in the streets to maintain your image. Whether you are an industry plant or a legit street dude, in able to move and make money you have to have clearances through territories. All these rappers that have been popping up are due to folks trying to wash their dirty money. And that's the labels dirty money and street cats dirty money. Dudes rushing to get extorted for a little fame and some IRS trouble. The whole thing about the gazillion female rappers popping up is another thing for another day.

Look at Aaron Hernandez, still gang banging and shit as a football player. Shit is worse in the rap game because they most likely been pumping you up, supporting you through whatever way possible in which that helped you realize your dream and now they going use you too cause you got big money and can help wash they money out
Shit is real wicked

Honestly, it's in every genre of music. It's just that in rap music the problem with genre is a part of the selling point. Whether you are male or female.

Yeah Blueface was done early. The fact he signed to Cash Money West was really what done him in but the whole image thing. I mean there's reasons why the Logics, the Kyles and the Sminos are able to do their thing and it's because they don't carry that street image. When it comes to image, you gotta stick to it. It's wild man.

I mean there's reasons why the Logics, the Kyles and the Sminos are able to do their thing and it's because they don't carry that street image. When it comes to image, you gotta stick to it. It's wild man. I learned this well over 15yrs ago when a few friends and I wanted give music a try. We recorded the music on our own. Me and one if my friends did the bulk of the recording, mixing, and mastering and learning how to do that technical stuff as we went. We talked to a few people who trying to get there own small labels off of the ground but never signed to anything. We figured the more we know and the more we own the better. Also, shit is crazy expensive. That's when you learn how everyone else was putting their situations first hand. Given that making music wasn't a life or death thing and school/work was also in the picture, making in the game wasn't a priority regardless of how much good feedback we got. We even got a song on radio. Some people liked it some didn't, it is what it is. Given our personalities and artistic influences, you'd be surprised at what we were doing experimenting with sounds and trying to have diverse content. Back then popular music in Atlanta had it's own sound. Easily digestible garbage the keeps the club jumping. I could go on. But the point I wanted to make is that in order to have a push early, someone needs to invest. But at what cost. Music territory and gang territory go hand in hand. And being Indy back was way tougher than it is now.

And being Indy back was way tougher than it is now. Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about. Without getting into details I've got ties to the music industry some of the current big acts today I've interacted with. Some other acts though, guys you've never heard of, they took the other route whether it's signing to a label, messing with the wrong people, not putting the work in, whatever. At the end of the day it just depends on who you are and what you do with your image. I know tons of guys that never picked up steam because they carried around a certain image or tried to portray that image and it just never worked. I see them on IG still but they've gotten so lost into what they thought was right rather than doing the research and well, it is what it is. Had they done the research and tried to come out now they'd be in a better position. But Blueface, Tekashi, nah, that's not the wave that needs to be celebrated but you know how kids are. They think that's right because of what they say and well, you know the rest.

True true and true. If you are a creator, you never stop creating. But the f***shit is what goes. It's easier to put them on, turn them out, and let the law or streets deal with them.
Take for example the best/most successful/established a lane of the crop that came out. Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Krit, Nipsey, Wiz, Currency, Asap. All had something specific that worked for for them. Granted they all have had their own issues here and there, but they were more interested in controlling their destiny. The only exception may be Drake since we know of the f***ery that has followed him. But he's too big to fail.

Tekashi is poison now, he’s already becoming old news. Hip hop moves fast.

I believe it was mentioned in this thread if not another the one the fact AK likes to clout chase and think he's about this life. Joe Budden has gotten on him about that in the past and told him that shit is going to get him hurt one day

I’m just bewildered that he still wants to roll with a cat who’s about to go up the river on RICO and is an accused molester *and* is apparently a domestic abuser according to one of his exes. Yeah he’s got charisma and hits, so do a lot of artists in the game today sans the baggage. Ak’s tainting what cred his brand has left.

Yeah he’s got charisma and hits, so do a lot of artists in the game today sans the baggage. Ak’s tainting what cred his brand has left. Sadly, I think the very simple answer is AK is just an idiot. In his mind, I can see him thinking going with the unpopular guy gives him clout or the even more idiotic "that's my friend" reasoning which is scary thinking because if Tekashi was willing to send you video of them doing stupid shit to hold for him, you don't think he will snitch on you too for whatever you may have told this fool
AK rep was already shakey for associating with Tekashi in the 1st place before he got in trouble and it's even worse now. People ain't going want to f*** with him at all soon
