In 1983-1984, Wayne Gretzky scored 87 goals and 118 assists for 205 points.
Oh, and he did that despite missing SIX GAMES.

No one will ever touch Jesse Owens setting 5 world records and equaling a sixth within 45 minutes.

There are a lot of allegedly untouchable records in sports, but no one - barring major, drastic changes to the way the sport is played, like removing goalies or playing three-on-three - will ever touch some of Wayne Gretzky's records. In today's NHL, we celebrate a 50-goal season as an achievement. A 50-goal scorer would need to light the lamp 43 more times to break The Great One's single-season record. In today's NHL, 100-point seasons make a player a Hart Trophy candidate. A 100-point player would still be 63 points shy of tying Gretzky's single-season ASSISTS record. There's a gaggle of other untouchable records, but those are the two most noteworthy.

Davey Johnson hit 43 HR in 1973, one of 3 Braves to launch 40+ in a season. (Darrell Evans & Hank Aaron the others.)
The amazing part: His second highest single-season HR total in one season is 18.

Gretzky 50 goals in 39 games. 50 in 50 was the amazing feat, until Gretzky obliterated that mark.
Gretzky 92 goals in a season.

Watching Michael Van Gerwen throw 17 perfect darts in a row in a World Championship Semi-Final to nearly become the first man to ever throw a televised back to back 9 darter is magical, do so here.

This could have been one of the most ridiculous sports facts ever if Alabama had pulled off the comeback:
Basically Alabama (ranked 25) was losing to Minnesota (ranked 14) by double digits when Alabama's bench got ejected. They played 3 on 5 basketball for the majority of the second half and got within 3 points with about a minute left in the game... then Minnesota ended up winning.
One of the biggest "could have been historic" moments that fell just short in my opinion.

Watching his highlights is like Larry Bird's mind with Magic Johnson's passing ability. And on the subject of Basketball: -Kobe out scoring the Dallas Mavericks, 63-62. After 3 quarters. -MJ's 41 Points Per Game during the 1993 NBA Finals
