I moved this week (well, only from the 1st floor to the ground floor) and could not help thinking about "Castle Sweet Castle"...except I have to do it on my own to make the new room a home instead of five friends doing it for me.

I also doubt I would look that adorable being unkempt, overslept and falling asleep into a pancake platter.

"The Best Gift Ever"...gets a 9/10.

Pros:
-I personally loved my Twilight Princess's segment the most. Her freak-out over scheduling everything for Hearth's Warming Eve, her realization that pudding will be the perfect gift for Pinkie, her brother's realization that she has gotten Twilynanas...just an all-around highlight reel of why I love Bookhorse Princess the most.

-The Discord/Dashie pairing was also very fun to watch with Discord showing that he knows more about Fluttershy than a normal friend would (*wink wink, nudge nudge*) and the winterchilla/zilla they brought along was also a nice addition to Equestria's bestiary. Also loved the shout-out to GI Joe in there.

-The Rarity segment was also pretty good (save for one segment in the Cons down below). Neat that Rarity has now become such a household name that she even inspires other colts and fillies in turn. Pistachio was also a sweet enthusiastic young colt and it was also swell to see his parents so supportive of their son's choice. Also nice to see Rarity living up to her element by allowing Pistachio to keep the hat despite the latter's realization that it was not meant for him.

-The Fluttershy/Applejack, Spike and Pinkie Pie segments were decent with the latter one giving us the Gift Givers Of The Grove who were a nice addition to the special and did not feel out of place in an HWE setting besides being a stand-in for reindeer.

-Loved the cameo appearances of side characters like the Pie family, the Yaks, the Crystal Family etc. as a reminder how diverse the Equestrian universe is.

-The songs were good and of the usual Ingram-Magic and the final showdown in the castle was exciting and action-packed as well.

Cons:
-Derpy's appearance...I don't know why but it felt really off to me. Her characterization in past episodes like "Slice Of Life" were more of a well-meaning klutz more than anything but here...I dunno it came across like a mentally challenged characterization of her which I was not too keen off. I know this might come of wrong, I just don't know what else to call it. Let me just finish by saying that I liked her past characterization better.

-Fluttershy being a little too gullible concerning Flim and Flam when she has had personal dealings with them in the past was a bit off.

Otherwise, a wonderful TV special and fully deserving of 9/10.
