This almost seems like a tax shelter or money laundering scheme of some sort. There almost has to be some reason to burn this much cash on what's guaranteed to fail. I agree. There's a little warning bell in the back of my mind saying, "This is basically The Producers: Sports League Edition"

It blows my mind that somehow they’ve managed to get XFL games played at MetLife Stadium. The same stadium that hosts WrestleManias, the Jets, and the Giants.

Meanwhile, 3 of the teams will play at soccer venues, another will play at a college football stadium... and the St. Louis team will play at the St. Louis Warehouse.

I'm down as long as they have random fans call plays via an XFL app on their phones. "@assmaster69 calls for a punt on first down..." “ One-Armed Drummer of Defrebel calls to run around in a circle and throw the ball into the referee’s groin” Dibs on replicating this scene Bonus points for getting to actually be that vegan for once in my life.

It's amazing to me how this keeps getting dumber. I mean, when the first step is, "Bring back the XFL," how the hell do you keep finding ways to make it worse?

Tampa Bay over Orlando is just plain stupid. Tampa’s actual NFL team is so desperate to fill seats they’re letting season ticket holders bring guests for free. Literally the only reason to pick Tampa over Orlando is to avoid accu4sations of favoritism. The reason is because Raymond James Stadium is an NFL stadium and Camping World Stadium is not very modern at all. Most likely they will be playing in Tropicana Field. They need to fill in that void since the Rays are leaving to Ybor City. EDIT: Oh wait, they confirmed that it is in Raymond James. My bad.

Okay, I simultaneously see his point yet see an absolutely MASSIVE hole in it. Yeah, there is a definite market for streaming sports that is relatively untapped and massive money to be made in it. But - and here is the big hole in all of this - people actually give a shit about the NFL and NBA and such. There is absolutely no reason why anyone who doesn't live in St. Louis should at all care about this league. Especially if your goal is to sell it around things besides full games - who on earth is going to plop money down to watch a highlights show of the (at best, and this is really being overly generous) D-list football league? If just, "Whatever, it's football!" was enough to get a solid streaming deal then you'd probably be able to catch high school sports on Amazon.

Also, here's something of note; once the Rams moved, the Missouri high school athletic association decided to leave the Dome because it lost it's importance.
Getting 5 home games in front of 8-10 thousand bored people won't be enough to make the warehouse viable, especially given the focus now being promoting Saint Louis FC to MLS.

Literally the only reason to pick Tampa over Orlando is to avoid accusations of favoritism. No, it also has an NFL caliber stadium. Tampa's stadium is solid, with some of the most impressive jumbotrons in the league. It would look great on TV, and for the fans in the building. Orlando, not so much. Orlando would also be counting on tourists to attend games. Like TNA tapings, but without the air conditioning.

Orlando had the Breakers for a while. Now that was a team that was going places. They even had a charismatic coach. Keyshawn shouldn't have turned them down. 😁

I am not sure how familiar you are with the area, but a sure fire way for the team to fail would be having them play at The Trop.

Dunno what they are going to do with that stadium since the Ray's are leaving. Maybe more downtown shops?

The thing about Tropicana Field is it is in the middle of a damn neighborhood, one of the most poorly plotted places to put a baseball stadium I can think of.

But they didn't announce who would be reprising the Rodney Dangerfield role! My vote would be Regis Philbin. Or Ray Coombs.
