Between his two attempts to get the brand off the ground, Vince could've called it XXXFL, produced football-themed porn, and still make more money. Considering your typical porn star is a petite brunette these days, Vince would probably just get angry at the relative lack of bleach blondes with fake goons.

And Vince is trying to sell the assets, meaning this incarnation is dead and buried.

Does Shane not have any cojones to stop this mad man from ruining everything? This will not end well and I'm not talking not care about Vince.

I still think there is a place for a spring football league. With how quickly the last two folded though it is clear it will take someone with massive amounts of money who is willing to not make a profit for years. Perhaps it will only happen if the NFL decides it needs another developmental league. NFL Europe 2. The XFL was much better this time and was a fun league to follow. I listened on the radio and liked how they were encouraging gambling on every single play. The play was still bad but would have gotten better. It just needed more time something it will never get now.

The only developmental league the NFL has ever needed is the NCAA. 99% of the time if you aren't ready coming out of there, you won't ever be. Why would they take a look at the giant pile of money burned on NFLE, AAF, XFL1, and XFL2 and think "We need to get back into this business."

But my reply was to his thought that maybe the NFL would do it. They wouldn't. There's no reason for them to go burn their money in a barrel to get the 30 or 35 players that they got/get out of the AAF/XFL/CFL in a league of what will be 2,200 players by the year 2022. NFLE was a tremendous failure, and unlike Vince they won't repeat that because they somehow have more business sense than cocky bravado.

Absolutely, but again, for some absurd reason, the idea of football in the spring will always be tempted by somebody. If not in the near future, someday. And it will fail. As usual.

As for who the first XFL champion was, let's just say it was Moe. The Los Angeles Xtreme remain the first and only reigning and defending XFL champions, and they didn't have to play a single game to defend and retain the crown 19 years later

Spring football's always worked up here, but the CFL is basically a cultural institution that has existed for over a century in some form or another so it has that going for it.

The thing you are failing to look at is why the spring leagues have failed. You can't really call the XFL 2.0 a failure in the same way as the others. If this virus never happened, than the XFL 2.0 would still been a thing. It was doing well enough for a first year but the thing is, you need time and when the whole world pretty shut down and mass gatherings are not allowed. The biggest issue is that way to much shady business practices have gone into this. That what hurt this idea more than anything else. The on field stuff wasn't an issue outside the first XFL which was done because they wanting to bring in that "sports entertainment" into it and he rushed the league before it was really ready to launch. The XFL 2.0 had EVERYTHING it needed to be successful, well built staff from Luck to all the teams coaches. Great TV deal on an exposure stand point. The only real issue is again shaddy business practices. Vince McMahon donated 18 Million dollars and under the same breath filed Bankruptcy for the league and fired 30+ WWE employees when the TV deals alone for the WWE was more than enough to kept EVERYONE employed. The AAF again money issues when the head of the league claimed to have more money than they really had and they only rushed into action to BEAT Vince to the punch. When you look at HOW many players did get signed to the NFL after playing in the XFL is all the reason to see why it should be a thing.

And again, guys signed to a 90-man roster are not guaranteed to make the regular season roster.

Take for example Jordan Taamu, he was passed by the NFL. If he didn't get to play in the XFL to show off his skills. What chance you think he would had by this coming NFL season to be signed by a team or given a look? Not he got a chance to at less be backup in KC. He wouldn't likely have that chance without the XFL to get him notice. I believe there always going to be cases of overlooked players they may never get a chance, if there wasn't anything for them to do after college and underrated and signed guys that end up lost in the shuffle by that next class.

It's an overflow league. Guys who didn't go to the CFL to go to the AAF or XFL will now go to tye CFL again. Fringe NFL guys will always have work, period. The benefit was more to lower end guys whose jobs are just gone now. Te'Amu or Walker were never gonna be guys sitting at home out of football. But those bottom guys will.
