The league website has revealed the 8 inaugural cities, with the official announcement to be made December 5: Dallas Houston Los Angeles New York St. Louis Seattle Tampa Bay Washington, DC St. Louis makes sense, since they just lost the Rams, and for any league to be taken seriously, they have to have New York and LA. But really? 7 of 8 markets with NFL teams? And nothing for the Bay Area. _______ Platypus edit. Here's the American TV schedule for the season

Gang, think about this: the football LEAGUE's cities leaked.
That is a massive, massive disorganized leak.

Depending on the ticket prices, I might try and make it to a game. Hell, by that point they might be desperate enough that I could make the team, lol.

With every bit of information that has been revealed since the epic move to re-visit one of the most gigantic failures in sports history, I've become more convinced that this will be a fantastic trainwreck to watch. Possibly even rivaling the first incarnation.
Most of the rumors were that they would stay in southern cities that were big on football, but not huge cities with established teams competing. Then they reveal LA and NY.

So the only city on that list without an NFL team already is St Louis. LAWL.

And D.C. continues to be the closest option for professional sports. Hopefully the XFL D.C. team doesn’t end up with a racist name too, but this is the XFL we’re talking about.
My dream of getting a team in actual Virginia lives on.

The weirdest part about this entire fiasco is that everything surrounding it looks more like it's wrestling related rather than football related.
I mean a list of cities were leaked due to them f***ing up the XFL website. Think about that.

Read an article earlier tonight that posited the league was doomed when legit sports media declined to cover it, largely due to its ridiculous name which Vince never even elaborated on a meaning for. Glad to see they’re bringing it back, now with the stink of failure attached and no further explanation.

They must have realized their mistake and pulled the listing, because I’m not seeing it anywhere on the official website.

Tampa Bay over Orlando is just plain stupid.
Tampa’s actual NFL team is so desperate to fill seats they’re letting season ticket holders bring guests for free.
Literally the only reason to pick Tampa over Orlando is to avoid accusations of favoritism.

Tampa's NFL market clearly not doing well so yes a mistake to put an XFL team there.

Alliance of American Football has pretty much rendered the XFL dead on arrival. There's no way this is going to work

It is mind boggling to me that they didn’t pick cities that are without an NFL team (except St Louis).
Established college strongholds who don’t have the pro team could have been ideal, like somewhere in Oklahoma and somewhere in Alabama for instance. To do two cities in Texas and not do San Antonio is baffling.
This is supposed to be an alternative to the NFL and the only way it will be is if it differentiates itself and goes after a fan base who are not already loyal to one team. This just seems such a mistake.
