I joined and advised them to dissolve the XFL again.

To be fair, 27k for six months of work isn’t that awful Yeah, for us John Q. Nobodies. But these guys are putting their physical and mental well being on the line. Nobody is holding a gun to there head to sign the contract. If they don't feel its worth it, than don't sign the contract. It's that simple. If they feel that they could be the only way to A. play football and B. May get notice by the NFL which any player can sign to the NFL as long the XFL isn't in season. Why people are so against the league is hard to understand.

Sure, it absolutely ultimately IS their decision to sign on the dotted line. But at such a paltry sum it's flat out not going to be worth it for a lot of people so it will have an effect on the quality of the football. When you can nake MORE money (significantly more, my salary is about $60,000 a year before deductions) to work in an office where you don't risk injury just by going to work, a lot of people are going to balk at these offers.

Yeah, bear in mind that most of the players likely to be looked at for the XFL have a college degree as a result of playing college ball, so it's not like their options are XFL or flip burgers. Couple that with the fact that companies are more likely to take a chance on an educated person trying to change his career from football to the corporate world than your average person trying to break into their industry (much in the same way a military veteran gets similar breaks, and for many of the same reasons without even taking into consideration whatever fame they have).

I hope it's a great success. There's no way. This still has "joke" written all over it from 2001. Vince and Co. can take it as seriously as they want this time, but there hasn't been any successful spring ball league. It might, and probably will, get some eyeballs when it starts from people (like me) who will watch out of morbid curiosity. But like last time, the quality of play will drop more and more, and it will fail just like last time. Then Vince's head in a jar will shoot for Round 3 in 2040.

Wasn't Josh Johnson like the fourth string QB on the Washington Racialslurs last year? And he only played because Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, and Mark Sanchez all got injured.

I hope this league succeeds. It'll give Vince something to do besides ruin WWE. It'll give football players who aren't quite good enough for the NFL a place to showcase their skills.

The pro-football portion of his Wikipedia entry literally has 18 entries for stints with teams and those entries don't count all the times he got cut and resigned (I remember him getting signed, cut, resigned, then later cut again during his time with the Colts).

Uniforms are being released today. Seattle, Houston and Tampa are my favorites. Dallas had the best logo, but putting it on that blue helmet was an unfortunate choice.
And I found out the DC Defenders have signed the only guy from my high school to ever play in the NFL, so they may be my team for now.

I love Seattle's unis. Especially the helmet.
Dallas and DC have decent unis as well, but Seattle is my team.
Also, I'm glad they were able to follow Strong Bad's drawing instructions, minus the beefy arm.

BattleHawks in St. Louis has been promoted very well. The local sports radio has promoted it. The Local "Altnative Rock" which has a very popular morning show had the president on there show this morning. So there both pushed it. I have seen Metrolink (Are subway) have the train deck in the battlehawk stuff and Bus stops have advertisements.

ESPN already looking out for it's partner, trying to push front page XFL hype on a slow sports Tuesday. www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/28438441/xfl-rule-changes-focus-faster-pace-more-excitementXFL could easily just come out and say "We actually know what a catch is, and our video reviews won't be painfully long like every other sport not named tennis." Instead they're trying to reinvent the wheel on kickoffs, punts, and overtime. Their solution to the punt and kickoff phasing out in other leagues are rules that are actually just as convoluted as the other problems in the NFL. The "3 seconds after it touches the ground" rule is gonna be so f***in nutty to enforce.

Kickoffs and the PAT are the weird ones for me, and overtime appears gimmicky for gimmicks sake, although it will give both sides possession of the ball. At the end of the day, the biggest thing going against it is the fact it's not the NFL, it's in the spring, and it is going to hemorrhage money FAST.

Just for the LOLs, Vince should sign Antonio Brown to the XFL.
