Maybe, but it's hard to say over public comments. Like what is he gonna say? "I'm so f***in close to giving up on this league. One more year in the red and I'm selling your candy asses to the Saudis." I think the talk about them losing money is overblown, as it was to be expected. I also don't put any weight in comments from an owner of a business about how committed he is to said business. It's all slow news day type shit. The real test is going to come maybe a year or two from now.

I do feel like with his history with Football where he was the last one cut that this may one opinion that he may legit be feeling at this time. Dont know if things change after year 2 or 3, but he definitely has been getting some encouragement from players like Bobby Wagner.

Talks about the XFL and USFL merging: linkI would’ve liked to see a game between the champions like how the Super Bowl was originally between the NFL and AFL, but it makes more sense to consolidate the leagues.

One league with the markets would be good. USFL needs home venues for all the teams like the XFL. Fan engagement and support is a key factor to success and not all the USFL teams have that. Thats one area the XFL done well is trying to built the fanbase. We the players and coaches out and about in the cities.

Merger is an option, but there is some logistics that need worked out. They need more markets, but teams in colder markets will struggle with proper fields early in the season unless more domes or NFL stadiums are available (I could see some teams being open to that). College stadiums just aren’t cut out for February weather (well, maybe the University of MN since the Vikings were forced to play there for a while and upgraded the field).

So a College Stadium is fine in Dec but not in Feb? I don't follow? When it gets warmer most of the games. Any football stadium would work based off the conditions we have seen games played in as it is.

I have a form of muscular dystrophy and fell quite often before I reached the age of 20. I can tell you there is a massive difference between February and December even when the temperatures are similar. It takes far more design and maintenance to make a field playable in February. NFL teams spend that money; college teams do not.

So right off, there are two Houston teams (the Gamblers and the Roughnecks), so safe to say one is getting relocated.

I like the Gamblers, but the Roughnecks are the better draw so the Gamblers gotta leave.

NFL teams spend that money; college teams do not. But they don't have to be a "college" stadium. The XFL under Vince has a NY team yes I know it was at an NFL stadium. The USFL have a lot of Northeast teams. The market would say you want to keep them there. We will see because they would need to find venues on home markets. So who said the Roughnecks are better than the Stallions of course because the Stallions never played IN Houston. But being two teams there is good that at less one new market is going to get a team. Unless they can figure it out a new place to play. they need to address Vegas.

Meh, I bet this thing fails after a year or two. There are rumors that only 4 teams from each league will make the transition in season 1 and it will be an 8 team league.
The Rock’s magic touch is fading a bit it seems. Everything that he does comes across so manufactured and fake these days. 🤷🏻♂️

Here’s how the teams will be aligned, and their head coaches: XFL Conference: Arlington Renegades (Bob Stoops) DC Defenders (Reggie Barlow) San Antonio Brahmas (Wade Phillips) St. Louis Battlehawks (Anthony Becht) USFL Conference: Birmingham Stallions (Skip Holtz) Houston Roughnecks (Curtis Johnson) Memphis Showboats (John DeFilippo) Michigan Panthers (Mike Nolan) www.xfl.com/xfl-latest-news/united-football-league-reveals-team-markets-and-head-coaches-for-2024-seasonSooo happy that the UFL chose the Roughnecks name for Houston, because “Gamblers” sounded so generic.

Only two divisions and four teams for each one is gonna make for a short season. Needed at least six teams apiece to make it more interesting
