I wonder where the White Walkers got those giant crab legs to pin the Umber kid to.

Poor old Bronn. Just about to dip his wick and the bloke from Endeavour comes in and breaks up the party. And then tells him he has to kill two of his friends.

And then tells him he has to kill two of his friends. well, he doesn't have to kill two of his friends. he's not a member of the Queensguard, sworn to obey her or die. he was merely asked to kill them for money. if he were smart, he would take the gold as payment for services rendered to House Lannister and get the f*** out of Westeros. i hear the whores is Lys are very nice.

Cersei: And the elephants? Strickland: They weren’t in the CGI budget.

Let's take a moment to appreciate that the first dialog of the new season is Tyrion making a Eunuch joke.

Next week better open with Bran & Jaime in a staring contest that inexplicably lasted for a week in-universe.

I'm guessing Brann has seen his conversation with Cersi, and needs Jaime to tell everyone about it with his backup. Having a Brann is like cheating.

Good episode, but the pace needs to quicken up with their only been 6 episodes. Although I guess it was just getting all the pieces in play ... Dano's army arriving at Winterfell, Golden Company arriving at King's Landing, Yara's army making for the Iron Islands, Jon finding out the truth and Bronn being given his mission and the White Walkers on the move. So a slower pace worked for the episode.
Euron is such a bastard, but he's so charismatic that I can't help but like him.
I've got a bad feeling Tormund and Davos are on the chopping block. The show needs some big deaths and they're two of the most likeable characters. One of them at least is gonna end up dead. Sam too, I think he'll end up executed by Dany... which could set the stage for Jon turning on her.
Disappointed the elephants couldn't survive on the ships didn't have the budget. I was looking forward to a pack of elephants f***ing shit up.

The show is still enjoyable, but this episode really demonstrates how slapdash the writing's become. Theon's rescue came across anti-climatic because they have to get him back to Winterfell as quickly as they can, the dialogue feels less deliberate & more about being snappy, and it the series seems to use fanservice via reunions and such as a replacement for making character's motivations coherent. I've seen complaints about the slow pacing of events, but if anything the travel speed of characters alone suggests a writing team desperately trying to squeeze in a bunch of stuff happening at once because they simply didn't give themselves enough time for the plots to develop.
The stronger actors (Headey, Allen, Cunningham) still make their scenes work through the strength of their performances, but the Stark family elements feel weaker because the likes of Turner and Harrington can only do so much with what they're given.
