Is the new story gonna incorporate the guest fighters like Terminator, Joker, Spawn, and Robocop?

Is the new story gonna incorporate the guest fighters like Terminator, Joker, Spawn, and Robocop? Doubtful. Five chapters is exactly enough to cover the current non-guest DLC characters.

Spoilers below: {Spoiler}Well, I've gotta say I was remarkaby happy with the story mode. Highlight was just getting a ton of Cary Tagawa being Shang Tsung's devious bastard self, but all the new characters played great roles, and having gone through the main story again last night, some of the twists they did on it were very fun, with the same aspect of similar things happening in different ways that was hinted at in the main plot with Liu Kang and Raiden's interactions.
I imagine the canonising of Sindel being a heel (in the sense that anything is canon now that every timeline demonstrably exists, opening it up to just about any path) will be controversial still, but people have been crying out for a while to play as the villains in a Netherrealm story mode and that's provided for in spades, so hopefully that'll balance it out.
Really enjoyed the Liu Kang ending in particular, much as the visuals of Shang Tsung's were, it was a bit stock villain victory, while Liu Kang's new reality seems like it could be the kickoff for whatever they do with MK next, and could mean Kung Lao gets a bit more to do in the next version rather than just being jealous of Liu. Wish we'd got a Kung Jin cameo in the end there, but can't have it all.
Also, was very pleased by the amount of extra gear and stuff unlocked through the course of Aftermath for characters I wasn't expecting, although in retrospect this is the perfect time to put in some new stuff. As a Cassie main the jacketless version of the Klassic skin is very handy. Outside of the story stuff, the new characters are pretty fun to play as, though Robocop's pistol move keeps weirding me out because I expect an amplified version to mean more shots rather than cancelling it. Fujin has a ton of mobility which I love gameplay wise, so expecting to put in a bunch of time with him. Grapplers aren't my type as much, but I enjoyed playing as Sheeva too, her look is great in this game and she has enough outside of grapples to get her in quick and then do some damage. The only downside I really have for this whole thing is that the rebalancing of augments mean you can no longer have them stacking, and I had a Baraka setup that was fantastic for just eating up boss' health and his skills have been cut down considerably as a result.

{Spoiler}Like Injustice 2, the story can end two ways. And like Injustice 2, the evil ending is obviously non-canon.
So, for those curious, Liu Kang goes back to the Wu Shu Monastery, finding a young Kung Lao, here without his hat, and notably more humble, making him his champion the same way he was to Raiden, as trouble is on the horizon, of course, not saying what

So... I'm unsure if I actually want Aftermath. I've heard good things about the story and the new characters look fun, but I don't think I can justify $50 for a relatively short story expansion and three new characters.
I dunno, maybe I'm just done with MK11 as I didn't especially like the slower gameplay to begin with and while I loved the towers in MKX, Towers of Time is still not that fun. Eh.

My hope still is that they're actually going to support Aftermath for a while (the rumor is Stryker is going to be added later on) so that it would justify the price a little bit more.
Hoping to dig into the Aftermath story, maybe tonight. I'd like to try and stream it live.

I have a thought for Aftermath's ending and potentially the next game {Spoiler}So, if my MK Lore is right, 500 years prior to the events of the 1st game, The Great Kung Lao defeated Shang Tsung, who was about to win his 10th consecutive tournament, saving Earthrealm, but 50 years later, was killed by Goro, who then went on to almost repeat Shang Tsung's feat, until being beaten by Liu Kang.
Now, if we set MK1 around 1990, then the tournament where T.G.K.L. defeated Shang Tsung should be around 1490, which I imagine is where the next game will start around from, until time takes a new path, as assuredly Fire God Liu Kang trains T.G.K.L. to not lose against Goro 50 years later (1540), and how Shao Kahn responds to that.
The Outworld characters all seem to be more or less immortal, so I'm sure Kitana, Baraka, Reptile, Jade, Ermac, etc. will be about the same. But that means a whole new cast for Earthrealm.

I'm of two minds about that. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}One, it would be great to see new Earthrealm characters and a different setting than the past MK games we've had, even if we'd be again losing some that were there from the start (except for Scorpion and Sub-Zero because no matter what you KNOW they'd make it into the game. Liu Kang may have been the regular hero but they were the poster children.)
On the other hand, it would be a shame to lose either of the Cages. Especially Cassie, who I feel got a bit of the shaft in MK11 compared to her role in MKX. Honestly, I know they wanted to redeem Liu Kang and make him a hero again after he became revenant, but Cassie's story as an Earthrealm protector seemed to suffer, as it seemed at least after MK9 and MKX that this timeline had shifted to have the Cage family be the new "chosen heroes" of Earthrealm. Even if we get an ancestor to Johnny and Cassie, won't have the same balance of fun and funny with serious that they did.
This is, of course, assuming they don't pull a Deadly Alliance/Deception on us and reveal that Shang Tsung's ending is the canon one and that story mode has us play resistance fighters to try and overthrow him.

That ending was just fanservice for the original baddie. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) And yeah, 100% certain Subby and Scorp's ancestors would be in for my thought. But I wouldn't be surprised if they have it like the ancestors of our cast are in, like Jax's ancestor being a warrior from the Mamluk Sultanate, or Sonya's being a Joan of Arc-like French knight, or our version of Kung Lao being a cousin/fellow monk to T.G.K.L., so on and so forth.

Really in regards to the story I wish they would just stop overcomplicating it. The 9 reboot, fine, that worked out comfortably and I can get wanting to roll some things back. I don't really think the gigantic timeskip in 10 was really at all necessary (though I do like the characters that came from it) and 11's plot is just dumb.
It seems like Boon is just still attached to that stupid idea he was talking about around Armageddon of wanting to wipe the slate clean with a completely new cast and it's a really, really bad idea because basically the only time since 2 where people've actually liked most of the new characters is 10. Even with 11 the only one of them who's really any good, Geras, is basically unusable going forward because they tied him so completely to Kronika that he's basically useless narratively.
