So basically the same thing they did with Breath of the Wild & Xenoblade 2.

Time for another IgnahtaSempria Marvel Ultimate Alliance Fun Fact tm! This will be the first appearance in the series for either Punisher or Morbius. The other four characters all appeared in the first game, but not the second, and none of them were on the default starting roster. Blade was unlocked via gumball/gatchapon machine in MurderWorld, Moon Knight and Colossus were exclusive to the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii versions, and Cyclops was available via DLC.

Bought this with an eShop Voucher (probably one of the only good things about Switch Online) and having a lot of fun so far. Lots of troll comments out there about the quality of the game, especially on Digital Foundry's tech analysis, but, honestly, the Ultimate Alliance series has always been a "love it or hate it" type of deal based on the reactions I've seen for the original games.
I'm willing to look past 30FPS and occasional frame drops if the game itself is a lot of fun, and this definitely is.
Also, Cyclops and Colossus have been confirmed as free DLC on August 30th (whoops, already mentioned)

There's evidence in the data that there might be four other free DLC characters at some point. {Spoiler}Black Bolt, Medusa, Vision, and Valkyrie. Nothing really that interesting but couldn't hurt.

I didn’t even realize this was ready to drop until the night before it went on sale. Definitely need to pick this up. The first two games are big time favorites of mine.

This is Nintendo Switch only, yeah? I only have a 3DS. 3DS is essentially dead now. Nintendo published UA3 and, while it's not a huge budget game, it doesn't make real financial sense to make it for the new handheld and then port it back to the old one especially when the Switch is a pretty hot seller.

Especially with the announcement of the 'Switch Lite,' which is a literal handheld-only Switch. That isn't to say there won't be additional titles released on the console, but there's very little incentive for bigger production releases on the system. It's lived a good life, been around for a good 8 years (about the same duration the Nintendo DS ran).

And thus, ironically, the downfall of the DS name came after Nintendo claimed as recently as last year that it wasn't dying and that it still served as a valuable pillar for the company. Much like the Gameboy name before it.

But retail support is basically dead. Can’t think what the last new game I saw in a store for it was.

Yeah, and Nintendo is not going to say it's dead before the replacement is out either... since if say the switch fails they'd have to rush back to a "dead" console while at the drawing board.

Im loving this game so far, biggest downside Ive got is knowing nobody else with the game so it makes co-op play a little difficult, waiting around in lobbies

Picked it up Friday and I've been having a blast. It feels like a sequel made by true fans of the original game, because they've brought back most gameplay elements that were abandoned by the crap developer who did UA2. S.H.I.E.L.D. access points, the ability to chain super moves between your team, its all there.
They've also made a ton of improvements to help characters feel more authentic. Moves like Cap throwing his shield or Hawkeye firing basic arrows have been implemented into their regular attacks, meaning all 4 of their special move slots can be used for less generic attacks.
