Oh, don't worry none, in HEROES IN CRISIS Harley fought Batman pretty much to a standstill and then Superman flew in and told Bats "She's as good a fighter as you." Not ironically. He really meant it. I don't even have the words. Jim Lee in a press conference a few years back said that Harley was now the 4th pillar of the DCU, which had been long held up by the Trinity of Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman. I really did not think he was this serious.

Watched it on a plane. Waited all movie for them to get to the fireworks factory known as Swamp Thing and it was a wet fart.

I am never going to give anywhere near a failing grade to a movie where Rob Paulsen and Rob Paulsen perform a duet. (A genuinely great rendition of Don't Pull Your Love) Well true IMO it is the second best lounge act from a DC animated project, the first overall being the "Birds of Prey" number from Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

Captain Marvel/Shazam was bigger than any of them, and he's been pushed aside harder continually. Hell, in the 70s, Wonder Woman was stuck doing depowered bullshit that no one asked for or wanted until feminists asked why she couldn't be an actual superheroine again, more or less, and she mounted a comeback. In the 80s, the Teen Titans under Perez and Wolfman was a sales juggernaut, and they were rewarded by being slept on until the animated show revived some interest. This all ebbs and flows. Harley Quinn sells right now, and odds are, it'll be something else after her. Deadpool has had a very similar career trajectory to her. I don't think it's meant to be personal.

Admittedly, those are both great watches. I actually like both of the Adam West animated films more than Lego Batman, which was fun in its own right but yeah.

He seemed fine.

I saw it on a plane, wasn't a huge fan.
What probably annoyed me most was the movie doesn't even have an actual end. It just closes on a joke and cuts to black. I can take goofy Batman, but at least give me some goddamn closure!

(If they had their way, there'd be 2 pillars: Harley and nananananananana-you know who...)

He’s made to look like an inept goof in this movie. He’s totally written out of Batman Beyond’s show, and then there’s all that gross Bruce and Barbara nonsense. Dan DiDio isn’t any better, but I maintain that Bruce Timm is heavily anti-Grayson.

Fair points. When he was Robin there wasn't really a problem.......but then they switched him toward the end of B:TAS to Nightwing and he did seem out of place in that role, especially since they introduced Tim as the new Robin. Seems like he just didn't know how (and/or care?) to build the Bat-family up with multiple Robins; to Timm, I guess Batman & Robin w/ Batgirl was the limit that they felt most comfortable with. Or perhaps they just cut back on him greatly to give the impression that he could break away from Gotham and do his own thing - the comics also shared that sense of branching him off on his own but then eventually often bringing him back into the immediate fold. Totally forgot about him not being in Beyond... huh.

Bruce banging Barbara probably was the straw that broke the camel's back (yes, that was made canon in the animated universe long before it happened in Killing Joke).

Supposedly Timm and co. pitched an idea where Bruce got Barbara pregnant, then she miscarried. When Dick found out, he went all "ok, I'm done with you people". They apparently wanted this to be the next Batman Beyond DTV had the show continued. I personally hated Nightwing's portrayal in The New Batman Adventures (he was way too whiny for me) so I was kinda glad he never shows up in Batman Beyond. I really believe that Batman Beyond was better off for not spending too much time playing "whatever happened to" and focusing more on building up Terry's mythos instead.

Wonder if Timm was resentful of Dick/Robin because of Fox forcing him into every episode of the Adventures of Batman and Robin era....
(I can't believe I thought this guy was the savior/could be the savior of DC in other-media. Should have credited Paul Dini, Dwayne McDuffie, etc. more....)

I don't think he was really made to look bad, so much as not really taking things seriously, but really, he was ahead of the curve on that. I am more just confused why he always seems to get his arm hurt in these animated movies. Didn't he also end up with a cast in the Red Hood film? But yeah, I don't think Timm's ever been terribly interested in giving Dick his due, which is a shame, since he's probably my favorite DC character outside of maybe Gar Logan.

Dick Grayson is my favorite comic book character ever. Well... at least there's Young Justice.
