Sounds very Roman Reigns-like doesn't it? Yep. It sucked when Roman did it but at least the “Brock Lesnar didn’t feel like showing up to work today” promo was focused on Brock, even if it made no sense for Roman to be taking that route. Rollins rambling about how much Raw sucks felt like a cross between the worst parts of Punk’s WWE Title run and WCW circa 2000. I was damn near expecting a “this is Colby López talking to Tom Pestock!” after a while.

Making a wrestler cut a promo stating problems =/= actually fixing said problems.

Meltzer had this to say, per r/squaredcircle
"The first segment of RAW, and this is the first I will say this, I feel like I was watching WCW when they were on their way down."
...
"This is the exact formula to lose their audience, they talked about the show sucking and the ratings too. And you know you are watching a product that isn't cool."

Corbin DID get huge heel heat after the promo, and for the rest of the night so it wasn't a bad idea to blame sucky RAWs on him.
Also got a huge TLC main event for the IC title out of it, which beats the booking of the last 3 RAWs easily, and you add in a few timely potshots against Universal Champ Brock Lesnar for not showing up all month long after the last PPV, or having a match on RAW since 2002 and it was a win to me watching it live.
The additional 'BURN IT DOWN's in Rollins Titantron was the icing on the worked shoot cake

If I had to guess, I'd say it's this cat.Hey, when did Corbin lose his hair? Personally I think he should have gone with a skullet. How very dare you. Lol.

Yeah, it's ok to let wrestlers point out when something that's been booked has a flaw in it, but only if it serves a purpose and/or leads to something. I know it's in vogue to compare things in WWE with NJPW since they're the hot product right now, but Tetsuya Naito has made a habit lately of pointing out in backstage promos when he thinks New Japan is doing something wrong in their shows - for example, he'll point out during the Jr. Tag League that the junior tag matches should main event, not matchups involving heavyweights in unrelated feuds - but he's not saying the show as a whole sucks, he's staying true to his rogue anti-authority character, and, very importantly, NJPW's business has been doing well lately, so his criticisms aren't of a failing product but instead of one that's doing well but maybe could be prodded to do even better.
When you go too far with stuff like this you get Hogan at Bash at the Beach 2000 saying something like "bullshit like this is why this company's in the shape it's in!" as part of an angle that helped nobody.
