A movie called "Us" made by Jordan Peele. Sterling K. Brown should be in this.

Get Out was amazing...I also read that Peele is in talks to reboot the Candyman franchise which I think he could do great with as well...

Gloved hand. Long blade. Red attire. Calling it now: Secret Freddy Krueger Prequel. The fact that the top of the image features the phrase "A New Nightmare" made me think this was the case.

I'm really glad horror movies seem to be climbing out of the funk they were in for a bit. For every Conjuring, it felt like we were getting 3 throwaway January horror films.
I have a lot of faith in Peele, hoping this will continue that trend.

I must be one of the few who thought Get Out was average.
It wasn't scary enough for a horror and, for having a goofy concept, wasn't funny enough for a comedy.
The build was alright though, sympathetic main character and twist about the girlfriend was good.
But overall, very average.

Also, outside of the TSA guy, almoat none of it was comedy. So that's kind of a weird criticism. Like saying The Breakfast Club wasn't much of a horror, but wasn't quite a documantary either.

It was marketed as being a horror and tops horror lists. It's a horror and thriller. The concept was goofy as hell. Hard to take seriously is my point. It's a concept that took itself too seriously. Wasn't scary enough for a horror, took the goofy as hell concept too seriously for it to be a comedy. Even as a pure thriller, the concept is too goofy to take seriously.

If you think it took itself too seriously, that's fine. But it just seems weird to me to judge it based on not being enough of two genres it really doesn't try much to be (pure horror/really any kind of comedy).

Loved Get Out, and I'm a big fan of home invasion films. There's something horrifically realistic about most of them.

If you think the premise of Get Out took itself too seriously then you didn’t take the premise of Get Out seriously enough.
