www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/how-we-turned-the-bradford-pear-into-a-monster/2018/09/14/f29c8f68-91b6-11e8-b769-e3fff17f0689_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.03fd7a72177dIt's not from a black lagoon, from past the stars, or beyond the moon, but like Audrey II, it's an invader, a survivor, and it isn't going away any time soon. Just, every part of this story is like a sci-fi horror. The perfect tree goes bad, after being brought in from an expedition that seemed haunted and ended with the man's death, and experiments with ignored signs of coming danger. It might sounds silly when people tell you to not f*** around with seeds that do not belong in your region, but between this, the Kudzu, or other horror stories, take the warnings seriously. Wild hogs, released reptiles in Florida, and nutria in the Southwest might be more obvious destructive invaders, but flora can wreak as much havoc as fauna if you let it.

Blimey, the first half of that article was difficult to get through, don't try and write a novel, just the facts will do.
