Predict how long until they get lazy and start doing them again. I give it two months.

Honestly, I don't mind the built-in auto rematches for the title. It's the auto-rematch of the challenger or a rematch of a rematch that gets old real quick. If a challenger loses, MOVE ON.

Man, f*** that rule. I hate that rule. I really do hope they stick with it and not make it an automatic thing.
This allows time for the former champion to breathe, change directions, whatever. And you could also build up to that rematch. And it’s a f***ing failsafe cause if ya do want a rematch, you can just finagle a way the champion allows it. It just shouldn’t be “automatic”.

I predict plenty of loophole abuse to keep it around.
"Oh, the champ got himself counted out. We have to give the challenger a Falls Count Anywhere rematch!"
"Oh, someone interfered in the match. We have to have a rematch in a cage for the sake of fairness!"
That, or they'll just put the loser of the match in a #1 contenders match the next night on Raw, which he'll win, 'earning' himself a rematch instead of just being handed one.

How many times has the title changed hands with these automatic rematches? I think Sasha and Charlotte had title changes every third week but that’s all I remember.

'Automatic rematches' should only be used in case of a controversial finish. Double pin, foot under ropes, double count out, whatever. Don't overuse it.

I’ll believe it when Brock doesn’t get his rematch after he loses the title.

There's a few posts not understanding what they mean by automatic rematches, I think.
I'm fairly sure this is just in reference to the "Rematch Clause" for a former champion who lost their title.

Even if they do #1 contender matches where the former champ wins it’s still better than doing an automatic rematch. Shit feels too forced

They should tone down the automatic rematches a bit, like having a wrestler waive it in order to choose a match stipulation or otherwise trade it for some material benefit, because if we just dropped them now wholesale, people would be confused. It's too established.
That, or do the rematches on a Raw and not have the same people doing a shitload of PPV matches together.

I'm alone on my island here then.
I think if you lose your title, you should be allowed to have a rematch to try and get it back.
Not a bunch of them. Just the one. If you lose, you move on.

They are just gonna use loop holes...WWE is sneaky not smart as they think they are but sneaky
Gonna see more DQ , double count out , "controversial" finishes to do the same match again and extend a feud
The minute Ronda loses her title...she is gonna win an almost immediate number 1 contender match and thus she gets another shot

Part of me thinks it’s incredibly lazy, but it’s such a staple of actual combat sports that it hardly registers to me.

It was. It has nothing to do with a challenger getting a rematch if the champion got intentionally DQ'd or something. It's strictly, if you're a champion and you lose your belt you aren't guaranteed an immediate rematch. EDIT: And they just said "Not Guaranteed", they can still do the immediate rematch if they want. Just supposedly, it's no longer guaranteed in storyline

I don't know how it works in boxing/MMA AND other "real" combat sports
But it would make sense that the just defeated/former champion should be the number one contender

They start all over. I’m not saying a guy losing his title starts at the bottom again, but he can f*** off to the house shows for his never ending rematches.

MMA and Boxing there usually is a rematch of some sort.

Predict how long until they get lazy and start doing them again. I give it two months. Figures. Becky loses her title, they do away with rematches. Badass or no, she really is Sting.
