A) Wrestler of the Year
Jay Briscoe
Because he was totally awesome with my kids at the Ring of Honor show in November. And he's totally awesome.'
B) Female Wrestler of the Year
Brie f***ing Bella
C) Best Pure in Ring Talent (Male or Female)
I don't even know what this category means of why I include it every year. AJ Styles?
D) Best Talker (Male or Female)
Bully Ray
I f***ing hate Bully Ray but the guy can cut an incredible heel promo. The one he cut before his match at Death Before Dishonor was magic.
E) Underrated/Underused Wrestler of the year (Male or Female)
Silas Young
He should be doing so much more than being Bully Rays lacky. Hopefully with Ring of Honor headed for the depths in 2019 they'll do something with him.
F) Rising Star of the Year (Male or Female)
MJF
This guy has the "it factor". When I first heard him on the radio late in 2017 I hated him. In the ring he's good but on the mic he's just a great pure heel.
G) Overrated Wrestler of the Year (Male or Female)
Braun Strownman
I really don't understand what people see in this guy and why they're clamouring for him to be the top guy. Anytime I ask them to name me five "must-see" Braun Strowman matches the best anyone can come up with is a few multi-man matches. What's left? He tipped shit over? Wow. I think he falls into the category of "anyone but Roman", but with poor Roman gone now this guys weaknesses will shine through.
H) Best Company
Alpha-1 Wrestling
A mid-sized independent promotion from Southern Ontario run by Impacts Ethan Page. I went to two of their live shows this year and just had a great time at both.
I) Worst Company
Ring of Honor
Ring of Honor had a shit year that was capped off with seven of their biggest stars bailing in December to start up their own promotion. Well, we're still not sure about SCU but the Elite are D-O-N-E done. And MArty Scurrl ain't far behind. 2019 is gonna be rough for RoH. I hope they swung some deal with the Elite to show up at Madison Square Garden in April or else there are going to be nineteen thousand really disappointed people there.
For me personally I'm glad they're gonna end up back in legion halls.
J) Holy Tits Moment of The Year
Meeting Todd Sinclair. Dreams do come true.
K) Top 10 Maches ov da Year
1. Jay Briscoe verses Mark Briscoe, HWC July 26th, 2005
This match was so awesome. Two brothers, hung over, just beating the piss out of one-anther. That's it.
2. KENTA verses Naomichi Marufuji (January 22, 2006)
3. Chris Dickinson and Eddie Kingston verses Josh Alexander and Kobe Durst from Alpha-1 “Wrestlers Gone Wild”
4. The Briscoes verses Kevin Steen and el Generico (Death Before Dishonor V, Night 1)
5. Kobe Durst verses Josh Alexander Ironman Match from Alpha-1 “Final Act IX”
6. Cody verses Willie Mack (ROH TV)
7. Jay Lethal verses Dalton Castle (Ring of Honor 16th Anniversary Show)
8. ROH verses CZW (100th show)
9. CM Punk and Ace Steel verses BJ Whitmer and that guy (from the Bloodstained Honor DVD)
10. Jay Lethal verses Jonathan Gresham Iron Man Match
L) Bottom 10 Matches ov da Year
I honestly have none. I watched so little "new" wrestling.
M) Best Pay Per View
Ring of Honor "16th Anniversary Show"
I had a lot of fun at this show live. I haven't watched it on TV yet.
N) Worst Pay Per View
Ring of Honor "Death Before Dishonor"
Being at this show live was just sad. They booked a five-thousand cap arena and the place had maybe a thousand people in it. And the show wasn't that great either. I left before the main event to go to a rave (which was way more fun).
