Last of the Summer wine was bulletproof, I heard that the thing that finally ended it was the inability to get insurance for the ancient cast.

StarGate SG-1 ran for ten seasons, and each of the last three seasons were expected to be the last. Teryl Rothery agreed to have her character killed off in season 7 in expectation of the end of the show, and was justifiably pissed off when it was renewed. Last of the Summer Wine. It did get big ratings back in the 70s/80s but it seemed like no one cared from about 99 onwards (after Compo died). Obviously someone did because it ran for another decade after that. Holy shit. That show was still on as recently as 2010? Evidently, they had a shitload of summer wine.

Last Man Standing is still airing isn't it? Think it's changed network hasn't it? It has lasted nearly as long as Home Improvement Well, it was off the air for 2 or so years before the network change.

I was really surprised The OC was cancelled as quickly as it was. I never watched it, but it seemed like it had a lot of buzz and coverage in all those entertainment news/magazines.

Ending this or next season depending on the story of the day. How about Survivor? SNL? The Price is Right?

I actually enjoyed "Yes, Dear," but when comparing it to the other creators' shows like "My Name is Earl" and "Raising Hope," it's hard to believe that it's from the same people. I remember thinking "Yes, Dear" was cancelled back in 2004. I never knew about this show until I saw it on TBS and local channels.

My thing with Supernatural is that once you beat Satan, as in the actual Lucifer himself, you literally can't go anywhere from that point. Except that they did.... Didn't they go back to Michael as the big bad? Yep, this season & 1 of them last season, Alt. Universe Michael has been, just 1 of the times they managed to have a villain as strong or stronger than Lucifer, like... {spoiler} {Spoiler}Cas at the end of season 6/beginning of season 7, Metatron in season 9 & Amara/The Darkness in season 11.

Wasnt Yes Dear shown on CBS right after either Raymond or King of Queens? That might have had something to do with it.

RH lasted four seasons only, but after the first season, I think Fox just forgot it was still around, if you go by how much attention they gave it.

There's a lot of British shows they seem to have forgot to cancel. A Question of Sport, University Challenge, Midsomer Murders.
How can a small country village have 20 YEARS worth of crimes to solve?
