I never cared. Unless there is a joke scene there credits serve little point to me the average viewer beyond the actors and maybe director of the show.

Yeah, unless there's some scenes going on during the credits, I skip them on to the next episode. I'll look up the credits afterward if I really care to know who did what (I usually don't).
Same can be said for most opening credits as well. Unless it's one I really like (ie Stranger Things), I will skip those as well to get to the actual content.

The credit crunching is disgraceful to TV, that's why I don't usually watch Antenna TV

It is annoying if you want the classic integrity kept of your reruns, and let's face it, some of those end themes are just awesome.

I get that it can be a pet peeve, but be actually outraged by something like that in the world we live in is pretty weak.

When they do that thing where they squeeze it in a way that is so anamorphic that you can't even read what it says - even if you slowed it down - I think that's unfair. But I don't mind them speeding it up or boxing it off.
Speaking of end-credits, man did I hate when they would do a voiceover for the news or some other kind of advertising that either talked over or outright blocked the ending credits on The Simpsons and Seinfeld. They did that once over the "We're Talkin' Softball" musical credits sequence (before you could just pull it up online), and I was so pissed as a kid.

I didn't mind "Walker: Texas Ranger's" credits being crunched since we got that awesome Raw promo with the slow music.

Yeah some people on that forum are obsessed with that topic... Really annoying to see them flood the forum about it.

I know some networks were cutting out the end credits all together and putting them on a bar while the last 5 minutes of the show was going... that was pretty shitty.

This...seems like such a weird thing to even hold an opinion on. Getting upset over something like that is such a first-world, spoiled white suburbanite thing to even think about.

It always struck me as somewhat disrespectful, but the main time it peeved me off was when the BBC started doing it to Doctor Who. You pay a whole orchestra to perform one of the most iconic tv themes in history, then let Graham Norton talk all over it about whatever inanity he was doing that week?

Funny thing:
Some airlines do this with their seat back movies for some reason. Anyway one year I was on a long China Southern flight so I decided to watch Disney’s The Lone Ranger... if you missed that movie (guessing a lot you did) it ends with old Tonto in the desert walking away into horizon while the credits rolled. But China Southern decided to still speed up the credits so it looked like the end credits of the early episodes of Monty Python’s Flying Circus with Michael Palin’s “It’s” Man running away as the credits rolled.

Seeing the BBC ident above makes me want to spin this off to...what do you feel about movie or TV closing logos being plastered by newer ones?
