Nifty now to find the middle line between blatant racism and puppy murder, hmmm, Maybe a n word filled rant where he's yelling at a black dog. No, but seriously the argument character =/= person is stupid, never use it. So is elite attitude to justify an argument. Some dumb shit said on the internet half a decade ago doesn't offend me either. not that I watch current wwe. But theres a lot,of assumptions made that have no real validity. Perhaps the man changed before being alotted the opportunity to perform? Guess I'll have to wait 6 years before someone digs those posts up though. Character/performer being separate is valid. Because he isn't Adolf Hitler, He is,a guy who said dumb shit. Don't like it change the channel, but dont try and bully people who disagree with ya, cause that isn't ok either. It's an elite attitude to not want to support a racist...alrighty then. Bolded; That shouldn't be an issue, after all it's my Ringmaster character doing the "bullying" not me.

Being ignorant and having terrible opinions is different to me than murdering a puppy, so that would be too much. Nifty now to find the middle line between blatant racism and puppy murder, hmmm, Maybe a n word filled rant where he's yelling at a black dog. No, but seriously the argument character =/= person is stupid, never use it. Nah, I’ll continue to look at people however I see fit and not worry what others have to say about it. Thanks for the advice though.

Same people that caped for Hogan caping for Lars. Truly shocking. All the “what if he’s a changed man??” mental gymnastics stuff isn’t really necessary. Just say you’re not bothered by racism and leave it at that. Same that caped for Ellsworth too. Strange.

There's been so little traction over it I can't help but wonder if its been sorted out behind closed doors like he was able to offer proof of hacking or they've known about the posts all the long as he fessed up upon signing and promised to be a changed man, does beg the question as to why he wasn't asked to delete them, but from years ago possible he forgot the password. All speculation, also entirely possible/very likely he wrote the posts and has never accounted for them, its just the PR environment these days makes me think something is fishy, they cut ties with their biggest all time star for a few years due to racism - it obviously isn't the 'no harm done' issue that it was in the past from managements point of view, why double down on a guy 95% of the fans haven't heard of?
Will be easy for me to fast forward his matches as I've never really got the appeal of hoss wrestlers with a few exceptions. He will turn up, squash the undercard (No Way Jose is getting ass kicked for much of the first part of the year), he'll then battle a plucky, much smaller ME babyface who will slay the monster and then have a dancing gimmick for a few months before being quietly released.
With Reigns ill and Cena being PT I wonder who the 'giantkiller' who gets over at Lars' expense will be? Probably Rollins or Hardy, face Miz or singles run Kofi are other possibilities.

I mean... if he’s changed, why not disown his comments? You’d be amazed at how far a well-worded, sincere-sounding statement would go to earn him some benefit. Talk about how you’ve met people that changed your views. Say that you’re better for it, have a PR guy write it and sprinkle in some nice anecdotes. It’s easy enough. If Lars wanted to apologize, I don’t think WWE would stop him. They’d probably make it a subplot in a network documentary. Something about wrestling being a force for good. Why should he have to, he doesn't need to apologize if his words weren't directed at a specific individual. I work in a multi cultural environment, race jilted happen all day from everyone. We all know it's a joke and if it gets pushed too far then we say something. I don't agree with recruits as I really don't get it. But he owes nothing to the WWE consumer. I'm not going to untangle the rest of your post, but 'We all know it's a joke'? Have you actually read Lars' posts? This may not be as open and shut as Hogan saying he was a racist and dropping the n-bomb, but we're talking about serious, thoughtfully written posts about other races being culturally inferior.

There's little traction, because honestly, the wider world STILL doesn't give a damn about WWE. No matter how close the McMahons try to dance with the p-word, nobody outside of wrestling fandom cares. Not even TV talking heads like John Oliver could get the wider world to care enough about WWE to want to claim McMahon's scalp. And compared to all of that, Lars is small potatoes.

Nah. What he said was inappropriate and offensive but I’ve always liked the character and what he does in the ring. He’s the best big man in a while IMO.
You have to realise that a lot of these “beloved”’ legends have said and believed similar, maybe even WORSE things than this.
For example, we know Hogan’s said it... and if you believe certain wrestlers, so have Flair and HHH... possibly Vince aswell. You only have to look at the Road Warrior Animal thread and you’ll see the guy comes across as a borderline sexist. And what about AJ Styles “THE GAY COMMUNITY??” and Ronda Rousey being a Sandy Hook Denier... or Brian Kendrick being a Holocaust denier... pretty much everyone has said or done something stupid in that company.
Besides all that, I get the impression that he was trolling and he doesn’t even believe that shit. Of course I’m just speculating on that front... let’s hope so.

See him being a Gene Snitsky anyways. Gone in less than a year, they’ll bring up Keith Lee or Donovan Dijak to be the same guy with better skills and no baggage.

I know it makes me a bad person, but I honestly don't care how horrible it is what someone on the roster has said. It doesn't mean that I support it or agree with it. I just don't have very high expectations of, well, anybody, really. If I demanded that everybody who thought of me as inferior get fired from their job, well, nobody anywhere would have a job.

I'm already not watching anyway.
And it's not elitist to not be able to separate the artist from the art. Some can and some cant. I'm in the latter category myself.

Once again I have to point out him being able to do a nifty suplex does not invalidate his idiotic mindset, I'm not gonna watch him in a match and say to someone else "Yeah that the guy who thinks minorities are inferior subspecies, but man oh man did you see that firemans carry and see that entrance robe?!"

We all know it's a joke and if it gets pushed too far then we say something. I don't agree with recruits as I really don't get it. But he owes nothing to the WWE consumer. Exactly. His words were not directed at a specific individual. This isn't a case where he was caught thoughtlessly using a slur or making a tasteless joke. He has no room to be defensive, to think to himself that these were simply embarrassing moments which do no not reflect him at his best - posting about how an entire group of people is scientifically inferior is the kind of thing that would, you'd think, require an apology to that group of people. It's the kind of thing, you'd think, where he want to make it clear that he's changed. Here's a story you've never heard of: Tye Dillinger and Cedric Alexander tweeted rape jokes back in 2011 or so. They were pretty rough. Tye immediately apologized. Cedric took his time and released a statement a few days later. That's kinda what you do. If you care about how you're perceived, if you're sincerely remorseful, if you recognize your old jokes have aged badly, if you care about your brand, if it's any of that, you speak out and then you earn the benefit of the doubt. None of that, no combination of that, applies to Lars enough that he felt compelled to speak out? Alright. But I'm not gonna sit here and assume he's a better person based on nothing.

To those that are saying "It was just a joke!", Lars didn't sound like he was joking and, well, Schrodinger’s Douchebag.

How surreal would it be if they gave him a similar run Rusev had his first year?

Between this and Nick Miller leaving, it's really hard to watch the Freakbirds implode. Now we're left with Epico.
