What matches got the biggest responses? Who received the biggest reactions? Biggest reaction on the face side was Cena (who was advertised) and Vince (who was not). Difficult to tell who got a bigger pop between the two of them. Biggest heel heat by far was Corbin. Cena/Corbin (the match Vince set up), Rollins/Ambrose, and the Finn/Dolph/Drew matches had the crowd most invested. The NXT tag match didn’t get much of a response though the crowd was surprisingly into Adam Cole (that could’ve just been where I was sitting though). Cena's return is going to be interesting. I like his new look but I wodner how that'll translate into his attire. Funny enough he looks similar to a younger Vince.

Meltzer also noted that on the Christmas night shows at MSG and Chicago the women's matches main evented both shows....and fans walked out in droves. I went to the WM in Orlando with Taker/Edge as the main and fans walked out of the Citrus Bowl in big numbers, so I can only imagine how many people will exit the building after the WWE title or Universal title match if they seriously main event the women. It doesn't really matter how good the build is or how over Becky Lynch is supposed to be. There are a lot of fans that just don't accept women's wrestling past a certain point. Wasn't the Christmas show part of a double taping? I imagine a lot of people would be tapping out, especially if they had kids.

In a swerve Becky/Ronda sit in the middle of the ring tweeting at each other. Huh, a squash match as the possible main event of WM...interesting.

I just want to remind everyone how absolutely stellar Beth Phoenix vs Nattie was from Smackdown 2012 for Beth's sendoff. Wonderful match, perhaps the best women's match of that era.

The final image at Mania needs to be Becky Lynch with the women’s championship. A singles match would be ideal, but whatever gets us there is fine with me.

I think every match should happen concurrently. Everybody gets to open the show. Everybody gets to main event. And the whole thing is over in about 45 minutes: would there be multiple rings or would all the matches have to like wrestle around each other? I'm not sure which version I like better... Conceivably, you could get pinned early in a one on one match, roll under the ropes, and bide your time until the end of the Andre The Giant Battle Royal.

I had heard that the women's match at MSG hadn't been announced as the main event so after whatever the match was the preceeded it (think it was DB vs AJ?) people thought the show was over and started leaving only to have the women come out to close the show for real.

Tl;dr: There may or may not be a women's match that may or may not be a 3 way that may or may not headline Wrestlemania.
Meltzer is such a f***ing schmuck.

From what I can read, he's the only source on it, and given his spotty record on discussing women I don't think we can call this one a fact yet.

I kinda like Nattie, and even I am shuddering at how that'd go over. Natalya's such a weird case study. Like for the first half of her WWE run, she was that Becky Lynch-esque figure of "She's so good, why don't they ever push HER?" and then, one day she wasn't, but that was when she actually started getting pushed. It has to be related to how the division has changed around her during her run, leading her from being the best of a bad bunch to being average when everyone else got replaced by better talents, because I don't think she's actually gotten any better OR worse. Natalya is a very good technical wrestler, but that's really it. She's a lot like Dean Malenko. Good wrestler, but just nothing in terms of charisma. Heel or face, she's the same character. She used to be able to boast at being the best wrestler, but those days are long gone. Becky, Charlotte, Sasha, Mickie, Asuka, Ember are all better than her in the ring. Alexa and Becky play better characters. I think Natalya's getting a push right now because she's been the one mainly training Ronda and, to be totally blunt, because her dad died. She's getting a sympathy push, but she's not going to suddenly morph into this multifaceted character. And her matches, while good technically, also all go the exact same way. She doe the same spots at the same times and doesn't deviate.

This is about the house shows last night (Dec. 26), not the double tapings on Dec. 17/18. Women's matches main evented the house shows (Rousey/Nia in NYC and Asuka/Charlotte/Becky in Chicago). Rollins/Corbin ended the Raw taping while Rusev/Nakamura closed the SD taping.

Yes, a poster on page 1 of this thread who was at MSG said it was true.

They f***ing were NOT going with Rousey v Natalya at WrestleMania, come on now, Dave. ...Right? Nattie and Tyson are two of his sources so he always puts them over. He actually has people convinced Nattie is a great wrestler You gonna keep peddling that bullshit theory in every Natalya/Tyson thread?

Dave doesn’t say Charlotte once in that blurb.....
Ric Flair vs Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania confirmed.

Won't matter who's on last, unless the match has white hot anticipation ahead of it so people are gripped, whoever goes out last will have to face a crowd and a live TV audience that have been watching this for nearly SEVEN HOURS... Rollins/Brock, Ronda/Becky, it won't matter because that crowd are gonna be restless by that point.

The way the first couple paragraphs are phrased, both with Charlotte just being called "Flair" and Meltzer's rambling style in general, I seriously thought for a minute Dave was trying to say that Roman's health is the one thing that derailed the initial plan for the Wrestlemania 35 main event being Roman Reigns vs Ric Flair.
And I can absolutely believe WWE would've booked that.

You put Natalya in the ring with good athletes/workers and she is able to hang with them and put on great matches. Her problem is she plays down to her opponents level and looks like crap when you put her in a match with the Mella's,Alexa's Livs,Nia's etc
