There was a thread liek this not long ago for Law and Order SVU, so why not another of my favorite shows? For me the most memorable one was supermodel who turns out to be a hermaphrodite and the reason she is so incredibly gorgeous is because she was meant to be born a boy. But I also love the one with the morbidly obese man who is every bit as arrogant and stubborn as House. I just wish they had gotten Stephen Fry or Rowan Atkinson to appear on that show.

Does the "no it actually was lupus" episode count as over the top since it was basically in on the joke?
That and had it had magicians and animals and other wacky stuff

The two parter in the sterotypical mental ward with Lin-Manuel Miranda as his wacky buddy and Andre Braugher as the Head Doctor was pretty much when I gave up on the show.

Just looked the clip up. The explanation was that her testicles never dropped because she has a rare immunity to testosterone-so her genetic makeup is pure estrogen, resulting in heightened female attributes. Sounds both fictional yet scientific enough to be reality.

Sounds both fictional yet scientific enough to be reality. That is not remotely how the distribution of estrogen and testosterone works. If there were non-functional testes present, that would not result in high estrogen concentrations. In fact, it would be the complete opposite as the adrenal glands would not produce enough estrogen in a biological male to give strong female features and without an adequate source of male hormones to convert to female hormones, at best the hypothetical person would not really develop any strong male or female features. Also, while I don't recall that episode at all I would have to say an immune response to testosterone would be a devastating thing for even women as even women would have enough testosterone in their system to kill a person that has an immune response to it.

Way to kill the fun Sorry man, but if I had actually seen that episode it would have seriously pissed me off. That is the sort of thing where misinformation can lead to actual consequences with regards to LGBTQ+ issues. If a comedy like Scrubs made it a point to ensure that all of their medical information was completely accurate, a show like House damned well should have.

I absolutely loved House. Once him and Cuddy got together at the end of Season 6 it literally killed the fun aspect of the show. What made the show amazing was their obvious chemistry and how they were extremely antagonistic towards each other. By them getting together it didn't have that same spark and magic that ultimately made the show exciting and unique.

It doesn't really count, but at the end of season 7 when he crashes his car into Cuddy's house.
Then the actress playing Cuddy left the show, so that storyline didn't have any kind of proper resolution.
Season eight was horrendous.

One episode that always baffled me was the one when the mentally handicapped son of Red Foreman had half his brain removed, with the explanation that it would cure his mental disorder yet also take away his amazing piano skills.
More to it than that, but the episode pretty much implied you could have the entire right side of your brain removed with no repercussions.

Honestly I have this really... off relationship with House. Whenever I catch the show on I tend to like it just fine for noise, it's a solid time-killer, but I have made no attempts to actually give it any sort of straight watch-through nor do I particularly want to.

What about the one where the kid thinks aliens are haunting him and the actual problem was an unborn twin?

The one that sticks in my mind was the one where they use a pig as a makeshift liver or something to filter a patient's blood. I actually don't mind the idea (this IS a TV show so I don't care about realism as long as the story works), but it's always weird to have House constantly make cynical comments about alternative medicine, including stuff that has been proven to at least have scientific merit, only to then pull that kind of shit. For me the most memorable one was supermodel who turns out to be a hermaphrodite and the reason she is so incredibly gorgeous is because she was meant to be born a boy. This concept was also a plot point in Ringu, the book the Ring movies are based on, believe it or not (word of advice if you intend to read them: prepare for disappointment as these books are unbelievably dumb. Both the original Japanese film and the US remake only kept the most basic elements, cut out the fat and expended with stuff that actually makes sense, and thank God they did. The best of the novels is probably the second one, but even it shits the bed at the end and ends up being even dumber than the original). I'm still unsure how that makes any kind of sense.
