Is Being Turned Into a Parrot Really That Bad?

I just watched a horror movie (I’ll avoid saying the name so I don’t give away a spoiler) and one of the villains gets his comeuppance by being turned into a parrot.

I mean it wouldn’t be ideal, but it’s played like it would be a pure horror. I’d take advantage of the opportunity and make friends with a Middle Eastern sorcerer or failing that a lowly pickpocket with potential.
