Ring of Honor “Winter Warriors Tour 2015: Dearborn”
January 30th, 2015
From the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan
Commentator: Kevin Kelly and a revolving cast
Tonight: Jay Briscoe defends the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship against Michael Bennett, ACH takes on Alberto Del Patron (provides Ol’ Del Taco shows up) and Jay Lethal defends the Ring of Honor World Television Championship against Roderick Strong.
Jay Briscoe comes out and demands his match happens right now.
Bobby Cruise joins the commentary booth.
For the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship
Jay Briscoe (champion) vs. Michael Bennett w/Maria Kanellis
This was good because Bennett lost.
Winner: Jay Briscoe
Matt Taven attacks Jay but Mark Briscoe comes to the rescue. Jay demands Nigel McGuinness make a Tag match between the Briscoes and the Kingdom.
Stokely Hathaway joins the commentary booth.
BJ Whitmer vs. Hanson
This was as special as expected.
Winner: Hanson
Young Bucks merch ad.
Tyson Dux vs. Tommaso Ciampa
This was a pretty boring match. I do like Tyson Dux though. Ring of Honor should bring him around more often.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Jimmy Jacobs vs. TaDarius Thomas
This was TaDarius Thomas’ last match in Ring of Honor before heading back to MMA and if you’ve ever wanted to hear a crowd not give a f*** about a farewell match then this is the match.
Winner: Jimmy Jacobs
Jacobs refuses to shake TaDarius’ hand but does thank him.
Matt Taven vs. Matt Sydal
This was decent.
Winner: Matt Sydal
Dru Onyx vs. Romantic Touch
Kevin Kelly referred to Romantic Touch as “R.T.” in this match and I never noticed that Romantic Touch had the same initial as Rhett Titus. The plot thickens.
Winner: Romantic Touch
Truth Martini joins the commentary booth.
Michael Elgin vs. Mark Briscoe
This happened.
Winner: Michael Elgin
Afterwards Elgin, Jay Briscoe, Tommaso Ciampa and Hanson brawl.
ACH vs. Alberto Del Patron
The biggest shocker in this match is that Del Taco showed up. I think this was actually during that period between WWE stints when he was good. This match reminded me of a time when Alberto Del Patron wasn’t a punch line. It was good.
Winner: Alberto Del Patron
13th Anniversary show promo.
For the Ring of Honor World Television Championship
Roderick Strong vs. Jay Lethal (champion) w/the House of Truth
This match was going fine until BJ Whitmer caused interference and Todd Sinclair called for the bell. Roderick pleaded for the match to restart and it did. It was a decent match.
Winner: Jay Lethal
Roderick Strong runs backstage and goes after BJ Whitmer. Alberto Del Patron runs into the ring and goes after Jay Lethal (they met at the 13th Anniversary Show). He thanks the crowd for letting the word “wrestling” mean something.

This show was pretty boring. The crowd was dead for a lot of it and that carrier over onto the TV screen and worsened the viewing experience. Nothing was offensively bad but nothing was worth going out of your way for, unless you’re chomping at the bit for one of Alberto Del Rios few appearances in Ring of Honor. It was pretty interesting to have Jay Briscoe start the show off the way he did but he probably just wanted to do the audience a favour and get Michael Bennett out of the way for them.
I’m not a big fan of the shows with the revolving cast of commentators but this one wasn’t too bad. Bobby Cruise was good. Stokely Hathaway, Truth Martini and Jimmy Jacobs were all okay. I’d rather Kelly and Corino any day of the week but you can’t win them all.
