He encouraged a fan who wanted to send him a picture of boobs to send him a picture of boobs.
Do you think maybe we'll ever look back at this time and agree we were all a bit over sensitive?

He was using his position to prey on young, impressionable (in one case I found self-described as drunk) women who didn't want to do it but were intimidated by his status. True, as far as he claims he didn't threaten anyone into it nor offer perks for doing so (and as far as I could find no one is saying he did) but the implication is still certainly there just from being who he is.
Add in having a girlfriend at the time and all in all it's just a really shitty thing to do regardless of the legalities of it.

If anything, Blampied seems like someone who is actually trying to make right and taking the right approach with this whole thing. Even if he isn’t actually doing what he’s doing with therapy and such (which I highly doubt), it at least seems like he knows what he did is messed up and isn’t trying to make a comeback immidiantly.
We have to remember, this was the year Louis CK admitted he was a creep who sexually assaulted people he worked with and hindered their career...and the dude’s already on a comeback tour of sorts.

Yeah, dude himself took a look at himself, realised he was doing something wrong and looked to not just say sorry but fix the root cause. I was never a fan of his, but I respect his course of action now.

Do you think maybe we'll ever look back at this time and agree we were all a bit over sensitive? No. Look back? Hell, I look at it now and say we're way too sensitive about stuff. Of course he was wrong for cheating on his girlfriend. That should be resolved between him and her. Nothing illegal about asking girls for tit pics (as long as they are of age). No one made the girls snap a pic of their puppies and send it to him.

I didn't know this. Is this any worse than what DX was encouraging female fans to do in the audience during the much heralded Attitude Era?

Don't get me wrong, that is one of MANY aspects of the Attitude Era that has aged horribly, but there is a pretty damn big divide between saying something like that to a faceless crowd and directing it toward individuals. The latter is a lot more direct and, you know, serious. I doubt much of anyone being told by DX to, "Suck it!" was feeling genuinely pressured to do so.

Because he's a creeeeeeeeep.
Also "had to stop making YouTube videos" =/= life destroyed. He still has an actual job (per his Twitter) and will probably make a comeback eventually.

I mean it's just dude who was on YouTube ain't anymore. Plus, that was pretty much ultimately his choice right? Ain't like making YouTube vids has some sorta 'police' that made him stop.

It was douchey. Absolutely. No doubt. But the hysteria about it was insane. Including on here. Calling him a predator and worse things..he’s a guy, who let power and hubris get to him cause of his cock. But I agree he took the right approach in pretty much f***ing off, and apologizing etc. personally, I miss the f***er a lot. He was funny.

The thing everybody misses about the Blampied situation is that every single thing that happened with him was totally voluntary.
HE quit Cultaholic. He wasn't told to leave. He realized he had a serious problem and his time on the internet wasn't good for him so he walked away.

Oh, I don't dispute that part at all, and props to him for taking a path he felt would help him overcome a problem. But that doesn't negate the incident-to-outrage ratio being a good bit out of whack on this one.

As far as I can tell the only thing he was guilty of was being a shitty boyfriend. It was forgivable but he decided to make a big thing of it and died on his sword.

He did nothing illegal, but dude was being shitty.
Do I think he needed to exile himself? No. But he seems happier and healthier mentally, so I think it's for the best.
