The namer of this whole thing weirds me out since, everyone I knew watched that one Mandela film in history class, in which we see he was released from prison. There's also that movie about the soccer/football team. It makes absolutely no sense to me that someone would think, "clearly, he died in prison", whereas I can see where Berenstain, etc, would confuse someone. Breaking from my dumb bit here: I thought it was that people thought he died after had been elected President before he actually died several years ago? I am sure some did, but honestly, seen a lot of people think he just straight up died in prison.

I want a wrestler to have a finisher called the Mandela Effect, only they periodically change what the move is without acknowledging that they've done so. Just watch JR call a Hardyz match. Everything is the Twist of Fate.

I am sure some did, but honestly, seen a lot of people think he just straight up died in prison. And I believe the reason was because of the death of Stephen Biko, another anti-apartheid activist who did die in prison in the 70s. And there was a movie about him (with Denzel Washington and Kevin Kline). And a song by Peter Gabriel. It's just people who forgot who that was and combine Biko with Mandela.

The Never Smile At a Crocodile song is not actually in Disney's Peter Pan. I remembered it instead from the Sing-a-long VHS collection.

There's several pro wrestlers for many years I thought were dead and were shocked to find out they were alive and well. For some reason I thought King Kong Bundy died in the 90s

Anyone remember the McDonald's "We do Ron Ron" advert?
I remember another version where he was singing about dangers in the house. He and the kids inch past a singing box of matches like it will spontaneously burst into flames and there's a green bottle of poison singing along to it. Nobody else remembers it, but it sticks out in my mind.
Also, I remember a car advert been about two little kids acting like adults talking about cars. "We had 5 in here last week!" "We had 7, and I'm still finding crumbs." Which i swear was about the Xara Picasso. But apparently it's for an entirely different car. I even remember the end after the kids have finished talking says "The new Xara Picasso."

I swear X-Pac won the IC title at some point. On that note, I’ve always been 100% sure Gangrel was a European Champion, and I think I’ve read others that have thought the same thing. You may be remembering a botched finish, because that actually did happen. Gangrel pinned the current champion X-Pac, because Teddy Long f***ed up the count. I think the match just continued after X-Pac yelled at Teddy, and Gangrel got beaten shortly after.

I'm currently having a weird one with my Dad, all over the film 10 Cloverfield Lane.
I know I watched it, but just by myself. He has firm memories of watching it with me. And he thinks I have the bluray, but I don't. And he doesn't have one either.
My best guess is he taped it off the tv and we watched it together, but still, I swear blind I've never watched it with him. So I really don't know quite what's going on here! I'm kinda hoping I stumble across the bluray down the back of my coach or something one day, so at least I'll feel a little less crazy.

There are two scenes that I swear I remember seeing when I watched The Empire Strikes Back in the theater in 1980.
1) I distinctly remember a brief shot (maybe 1 second long) showing Luke's hand and Lightsabre falling down the shaft.
2) I also remember a brief shot of Han slipping his binders and reaching out towards the freezing equipment. Obviously, none of my copies have had that, but it does explain why his hands are outstretched and he had no binders on when he was encased in carbonite.

I clearly remember #1, no memory of the second. I've been having that confused memory just lately, regarding the death of "The Captain" of Captain and Tenille... i could have sworn that Tenille passed away in the 80s.

People being stupid and ignorant is I think more the real cause. Especially with an unwillingness and too much pride to admit they are wrong.

Maybe it was from a parody?

The naming conventions that they thought he died in Prison. I think people got Mandela confused with Steven Biko, who did die in custody in South Africa during the height of Apartheid.
