I'm kind of baffled nobody's made an Iron Man game yet. Not only is Iron Man the second most mainstream superhero in the world right after Batman thanks to the Disney movies, but the character lends himself so naturally to modern gaming trends.
Upgrade trees? He constantly upgrades or builds new armor to deal with new situations. Crafting system? See above. Open world sandbox? He can fly.
His bad guys are all super simple to create as video game characters too, since they're all just dudes in knock-off Iron Man suits.

Apart of that might be all those terrible Sega made Marvel games from the PS3/Xbox generations. They were all boring, passable games at most, the Iron Man game included.

All I ask for is a non RPG or MMO Marvel or DC game. As much as I loved Ultimate Alliance, good lord the RPG elements made it unfun to play single player. Give me something like X-Men Arcade but on a MASSIVE SCALE with a bunch of playable characters, already with skills and powers at the ready.
It can even be drop in and out co-op online play like the LEGO games.
In short, we need more side scrolling brawlers. Or just brawling games in general.
This makes me think of how Disney may have cost themselves millions in sales by cancelling Disney Infinity. I mean Infinity War was RIGHT THERE waiting to make all of the money. And the new Star Wars movies too!!! And Incredibles 2! Sigh.

Superman 64 was the most perfect superhero game we could ask for. It's all been downhill since then.

Wasn't there a superhero MMO a few years ago that were all characters created for the game? Seem to recall that being well received.

They had a really good thing with Superman: Shadow of Apokolips.
A tight, top notch story written by Superman TAS writers, a superb Superman flying, superpowers and fighting dynamic.
He was challenged by Parasite, Livewire, Metallo and Darkseid's army.
Too bad it wasn't marketed much and was largely un-noticed.

For what it's worth, the DC Universe MMO was pretty good for a f2p MMORPG.
The old Spidey games, especially the ones based on Raimi Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man, were also really good. The PS4 Spidey game is sort of like a cross between those games and Arkham. The fighting games like Injustice and Marvel vs. Capcom are also all solid games (except for Infinite).
And while not Marvel or DC, City of Heroes was really good while it lasted. The game based on Top Cow's The Darkness was a lot of fun, too.

For Superman, I think the idea would be at the beginning to have him stripped of the majority of his powers. Like Metropolis is covered with Red Sunlight thus hampering his abilities like he can only fly for short distances for example and gradually he overcomes it and obtains his full power.
Of course, people forget Superman is still built like a pro athlete and a strong guy even without his kryptonian genes so its not like he wouldn't be able to stop muggers. Just that he'd have to fight more careful and actually dodge bullets for the first act of it.

I just can't get behind most of the fighter style hero games because I think it's so bullcrap that certain characters would last even 1 second against other characters. As "crazy" and "Scary" as Joker might be...in a straight up fight, he really doesn't stand a chance against Dark Seid, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Brainiac, ect. The same goes for guys like Ken Masters taking on Hulk, Thor, Thanos, or Magneto. I just don't buy that he's any threat to them.

The Invaders
Imagine a Call of Duty/Metal Gear hybrid, but with a team of superheroes led by Captain America sneaking into 1940s Nazi Germany on a mission and having to fight their way back out. Utilize a crap-ton of the characters that were either created back then or retro-dropped into that time period, heroes and villains. Tons of easter eggs.

Something about Kryptonian nanites that Superman was using to bolster his armies. in MK vs. DC it was something with the portal they went through (and Superman's vulnerability to magic.)

And gameplay balance in fighters just has to give way to any weird story things, though I can't remember if there's any storyline conceit for the Marvel games that puts everyone on the same level powers-wise. Though it's funny you mention Ken and Mag-f***in-neto when he's considered far and wide to be one of the best characters in MvC2 and Ken isn't even close to being in his league. That said, don't underestimate the storyline powers of the Street Fighter characters, either. Akuma/Gouki is a master at the martial art Ryu and Ken use and he's practically godlike in the SF mythos. M. Bison, Rose, Gouken, Gill, Urien, Oro, and a bunch of others are also at the higher end of the power scale in SF lore.

I really loved playing Marvel Omega - may have been free like the DC Universe game, but I so enjoyed it. I was gutted when they cancelled it.

I am surprised that there has yet to be a Dynasty Warriors-style Marvel game. Could you imagine playing an Age of Ultron scenario with selectable/toggable Avenger characters, with hack-and-slash gameplay? The scenarios are endless to have epic battles where Marvel teams fight through scores of enemies. You could even encorpate stealth missions or space-combat missions, for variety. Damn, I want this game made!
I've been begging for a continuation of the PS2/XBOX Punisher game. Taking Ennis' storyline made a very fun game adaptation. They should have kept it going, and will hopefully revisit the franchise.
I also think Invincible would make a great game. The contrasting art style of bright colors with the dark reality of the universe, made the comics very gripping.

Let's see, right off the dome, you've got Cap and Namor for "boots on the ground ass kicking segments", have Union Jack and Blonde Phantom for stealth segments, and Vision and Human Torch for "crazy over the top superhero blasting shit".....yeah, I'd play that game.

It really sucks that Gazillion went to shit by intervening and pushing David Brevik out of power because I was with this game since the beta and this was such a solid game paying so much love to the entire marvel universe and was coming along well untill the above happened ...and things just snowballed....with characters no longer being done on time , patches taking forever...thus delaying new content etc. So I am REALLY hoping that with Ultimate Alliance being ressurected on the switch that atleast PS4/xbox get another x-men legends game...especially now with Marvel getting the license back completely. Yeah I loved our little diablo style marvel action rpg

Go the Warriors Orochi route and have different heroes from different eras trying to stop Thanos as he uses the infinity stones to mess up reality

Isn't there going to be a Daredevil game? Or was that just rumored? There was a joke about the game screen being black
